Yoakum dominated 4A Gonzales all phases of V scrimmage. Scored at will (all controlled, no game-like portion) and D was lights out. Both passing and running game was very successful and was close to 50/50 in play calling selection. #2's gave up GZ loan TD. Jordan Moore was held out due to minor muscle issue. Got chipper as expected against close rival and first time to smack someone other than a teammate. Travel to the Rock Pile (Alamo Stadium) this Thursday for 5A Sam Houston.

    Freshman was 4-1 Ykm

    JV 2-1 Ykm

During the live portion Liberty Hill dominated.
An older black gentleman whose grandson plays for Alvarado came up to me afterwards and said "Ya'll beat us on defense, ya'll beat us on offense and you beat us up, that was just a good old fashioned ass whooping!"! He also said they had been ranked as high as #4 preseason (I haven't seen that anywhere) but there was no way they were that strong we both agreed.
He pointed out his grandson who is 6 feet tall, 270 pounds. Much larger than anyone we have.

Isn't it strange that after a bombing everyone blames the Crazy Azz bomber(s), but after a shooting the problem is the gun?

Was this Varsity only or a mix of JV and Varsity reps?

Carthage Dawgs had a good first scrimmage against Pittsburgh.
New QB threw 4 TD's, oline did very well on both run and pass blocking. Gave up no sacks. QB missed a few reads, but looked very good. Receivers were outstanding making impressive catches. The defense shut down the run, but a very tall receiver out jumped a Dawg DB for TD.
Dline played outstanding, better than expected. Big sophomore DE looks to be a star in the making.
    K. Ingram only two plays, one went for TD. His little brother ran the very well, but did fumble once. The Dawgs played many players.
    Very good scrimmage.
Next week 5A Marshall with 3 D1 olinemen.
