Need to put together a long winning streak-winning every other one doesn't hack it

Well if Houston went 22-21 in their final 43 games they would finish the regular season at 95-67....

Houston is currently 5 games ahead of Boston for the top seed in the AL, so Boston would have to finish 28-15 or better to overtake Houston in that scenario. Not likely they will do that but definitely possible. Anyway you look at it, .500 the rest of the way isn't ideal but it's more than good enough.

Then it's just a matter of what you do in the playoffs

They haven't been playing .500 ball last couple of weeks.

They better find some pitching and their bats and quickly if they want to compete in the playoffs. 3-7 ball won't get you far in the playoffs.

I'm mad they didn't pick up some pitching. Not that much was available, but a couple of decent arms sure would've helped.

Eh, the slumped a little, but they've won 3 out of their last 4 and will get Correa, Harris, Gattis, McCullers, and McCann back soon.

Just get healthy get hot in September and October, forget about their record the last 2 weeks....

Tigers trade Justin Verlander to the Astros

I like the trade. Houston solidifies their rotation & they gave up none of their 5 "untouchable" prospects to do it, and none that were capable of helping houston this year, despite baseball america saying perez was their no. 3 prospect. In addition, Detroit will pay 8 mil per year of Verlander's salary.

Houston's rotation when McCullers comes back:

    Keuchel
    Verlander
    McCullers
    McHugh
    Morton?
    Fiers out?
    Peacock back to bullpen?

Sumlin made his return today...same impact. Can't stack up against teams that aren't Prairie View in pre-conference. Just laughable.

Little man? Far from it.... They don't call me Big Country for nothing and anytime you want to see in person to decide if I have little man syndrome, or am anywhere near a little man.... come check it out. And as to this board, I will come over here to make sure you get the message, after your cocky reference after UT's loss yesterday. Always gotta get a dig in. Well, tonight is my "dig"... right back at your cocky ass. If you don't like it.... lump it.
