Pick up a commitment from 5* receiver Christian Kirk out of Arizona over USC, Arizona State, and Ohio State. Good friends with #1 QB commit Kyler Marray.

I wonder if hook thinks this guy is a stud??
You're crazy if you don't think stars mean anything. It gives the kid all the leverage in the world on the coach to see the field or on to the next one. Being able to handle the multiple 6-7 5* recruits Saban gets is unbelievable. You may say that isn't how it should work, but it 100% is. This is a business now for the big time recruits and they can't show off their brand if they aren't on the field.
There it is - that's the quote I've been waiting on. That is the the line being touted in Austin as they're recruiting has begun to unravel is recent weeks.I am betting Ratley is as good or better and he had no stars coming out of high school, stars do not mean crap unless you prove it at the next level. Time will tell.
Here's why stars and rankings do matter - no team has won the national championship without having a top 7 recruiting class within four years of their NC. I think Florida had the lowest ranked class #7 when they won a few years ago.
Name a team that has won a NC in the BCS era that consisted of a bunch of "coached up" 2 and 3* guys.
Don't cherry pick people to make your argument. RSJ is a redshirt freshman - he had a slow year. Speedy Noil was a true freshman and played well. Kyle Allen was a true freshman and he played well.
Answer the question. Name a team that has won a NC with coached up scrubs......
No doubt it's a big deal wherever he ends up however he still has to make it happen on the field, I am just not a big believer that the number of stars make the player. Yes some do pan out, hell look how many Mack had a Texas that did not pan out. How many in the NFL were 3 Star and lower, you still got to perform on the field to earn the right to play and some times the lower star players outperform the so called 5 star. Recruiting players that fit your system is just as important as the star next to the name, we can all agree to disagree. I do not give a rats ass who agrees with me, it is what it is.
