I believe I seen more arm tackling and diving tonight than last week!
Can't wait to hear the spin on it this time...
I'm not going to call any kid out, but the tackling was so bad I seen 34 griping at the kid on numerous plays.
Celina beat Argyle.. will make for a very intriguing game next week.. should be interesting. ..

Rather than dwell on the negative. I will talk a little bit about the positive things from last night's game. The defensive line played very well. They were able to get a good push on most plays. Even members from the other team staff remarked on this. Abilene Wylie considered our defensive line a weakness for our team. All in all it was a much better defensive performance then last week.
There are lots of things that improve upon. That's what this time of year is for. Some teams use it to play easy teams in pre-district, for easy wins. With every loss, there is a lesson to be learned. With every easy win, there's a lesson to be forgotten. Next week will be another hard game with another very good team. I believe in this team. Win or lose at this time of year there is a chance to improve. The lessons learned now will only serve to benefit us later. I am sorry that I'm not a glass is half empty, person. I saw great things last night. I watched every play, of course we had some bad ones, and made some mistakes. But also saw some wonderful kids do a lot of wonderful things. Playing against a very good team but team with obvious limits. I believe that we do not have those limits. I hope is that the coaches can utilize the kids correctly. And allow their God-given talents to come out in their play of each game. I know it must be very very stressful to be on the staff of the team has been as successful as ours. Once again that's what pre-district is for. I believe that when the games start to matter. They will have it all worked out, and our boys will be right where they should be. This team can be great and I believe they will be.
Go Steers!
Very well put. Remember we started out 1-2 last year... and turned out pretty darned good. Totally agree with playing a tough predistrict schedule being much better for your team in the long run than running the table against weaker teams. Good teams will show you your weaknesses and what needs to be fixed. The Graham kids have nothing to hang their heads about--they played their guts out last night and just got beat by a very good Wylie team. We know the feeling well--same way we felt after both losses to Graham last year. You can bet that a lot of kids on our team remember that well and it's made them work harder all year--pushing themselves to do that extra set in the weight room, running that extra wind sprint when you're exhausted, spend the extra hours watching film instead of running around with your buddies or playing video games. I know a lot of our kids and have seen those sacrifices first hand. That's what makes good teams great...
BTW--Notice to Region I... don't take Wylie lightly, this team is loaded and on a mission.
