They looked pretty good to me. Newton is lucky to be in the top ten in any poll, due to their '00 season, but I think they definetely deserve to be at least 3.

Newton's '00 season wasn't that bad. A regional loss by a touchdown to Marlin. Marlin went on to win the quarterfinal by 1 in OT and then lost in the semifinals to LaGrange by 4. LaGrange went on to win state by 3. With the starters that Newton has back, this year should be pretty good for them.
