Gundy falls in with my bad hires list.

Fisher/Malzahn/Mora Jr would all be good.

What about Ulysses S. Grant. If we want to conquer the South (SEC) he's our man.

Go Sinton Pirates and Lady Pirates! I also like old movies like "Dawn at Socorro." I also like the Tour de France. I like the Pelican West Band located at South Padre Island, Texas. Phil is PhiI is Bill is the compassion police. He is also the Sinton Matador. Some call him the Sinton Prophet. {Also Captain Obvious. } BEWARE OF THE HOWLING BEAR! He's going for the Corner - he's got it! Roy Orbison rules.

Why would an NFL coach want to come to UT?

Not sure what Harbough is making but the control and lack of dealing with an NFL owner would be the biggest differences. However, the pinnacle of the coaching career is the NFL head coach, so with that said and the success he has had it really would be taking a step down. Him being one of the younger NFL coaches also leads me to believe this is less likely.

I think if Texas' job were just about being a good coach/recruiter Briles would be about as good as it gets. Texas, IMO believes coach Briles is beneath them and I don't think they will go after him at all. I think in most cases they can pick their coach and no one is unattainable, however this played out kind of ugly and now that Saban is off the table, I think they might be in danger of ending up with a lame duck replacement as well.

Curious why you claim Saban is off the table? Did Texas even offer him a deal yet? Nothing different in regards to obtaining Nick. Still have to buy him out, like you would of had to do a month ago. I still think what Texas was going to offer is still more than what Bama gave him.

Saban is a business man first, who can happen to coach. Contract means nothing to him. If Texas wants him, they can $till get him. Just be prepared to replace him in about 5 years after you win a NC a time or two, minus 50+ million. Is it worth it? That's the question.

He just re-upped. Why do you think he is still in play? It's not like Saban just bumped up a couple of hunderd thousand. He increased his salary by nearly 2.5 million a year. He is making 7.5 million a year at Bama. He is staying put.

Saban is also 62 years old and oh by the way, Texas just ran off a 62 year old. That would be a quick fix and then what are you left with. If they pay that kind of money, at least if it were me, I would want a little bit of longevity.

I was just replying to the comment, "Saban is off the table". I say he isn't. Texas never even offered their deal yet. Do you think Texas was just going to offer 5 million to him in the first place? 8 is what I was hearing, for 4 years. Now--question is---do they up that? I just would not say, Saban is off the table. Not saying Texas will get him. Just, he can be gotten.

Texas would have had Saban if some of the DA regents could have kept their mouths shut until they figured out how to get rid of Mack...........now whomever they get won't be considered god enough. The powers that be screwed this up royally.........hate that for them
