Gonzales 60-20 end of the third.
Dang! Butt whoopin!!!
GO MEAN GREEN!!
Lots of different folks carried the rock. Alyas had more than 200 yards at halftime. A freshman running back made his debut with a long td run in the second half. Offensive line simply blew VE off the ball. Jury is still out on VE though. Not sure how strong they are.
Jury handed down verdict after VE first scrimmage Gontex when Alice, yes--that Alice, scored 9 TD's on them. Then Cuero made them look like a solid junior high team in the second scrimmage. Verdict: VE is guilty of impersonating a football team.
Appears looking at your schedule, you'll be 5-0 when them LaGrange Leopards come to town on Oct 11th for the opening game of D26 play. A perfect storm. This schedule ( VE, Bastrop, Lanier, College Station and Sam Houston) will allow the youngeons at the skilled positions garner some PT experience for district running through the massive lanes created by this fearsome fivesome: Zach Perez-Clack, J.T. Miller, Damien Airhart, Jordan Johnson and Tyler Filla. Hope Filla is ok, heard he got carted off the field in the 4th? Status Gontex?
Behind that line, and of course VE's DL, these impressive rushing numbers were created:
Alyas Ramirez 19-256, Brant Philippus 13-66, Aaron Hunt 8-87, Grayson Meredith 7-23, D.J. Gonzales 6-118, Jamie Tellez 3-15, Darrance James 2-41.
Must be fun to line up and know you can gain over 10 yards a carry on each play against your opponent. Impressive Gtown!!!!

Your probably right YT, but on that pre-district schedule, the trip to College Station will be no cake walk. Those were some really good looking fresh and soph's last year and they played us really hard for the first half. Bastrop, who knows? They always seem to cause us problems. Have not heard anything through the grapevine on Filla, other that ER didn't see anything and said bed rest till Tues. then I'm guessing ortho visit. We will see.
Don't know how college station's young talent will transition to varsity but they were pretty salty last year as sub varsity players.
They will be ok. Seen them play at state 7 on 7. They will hang for awhile IMO with GZ. Then, that constant repeated pounding will take it's toll. They are by far the toughest ND opponent. CS will be a force in a few more years. Baseball they are pretty good already. Old Cuero coach, is their baseball coach. Seen him a few times last year.

Where ya been? Sure I do. I'll post the district stat's too when I get them. We lost another last night, with Regan Jacobs (RB, DB, K) going down. 3 starters now out. Couple 2-way starters. We are struggling to fill the void already with Blakeney and Thurmond gone from secondary. Now, another. Good news, 2 should return in a few weeks and Thurmond mid way through district. Sinton tough place to play with full roster, now a depleted one. LOL. We'll make it competitive still, I assure you.
Just be healthy when the games matter, Please.
For the record, it's easy to know the names of ya'lls OL too. I'm sure the entire district knows their names by heart. If not, they will soon.
