    Default Houston needs our prayers

Ok 3ADL'ers. Houston Fire Department need our prayers right this minute.

4 fellow FF'ers died in a roof collapse, others injured. Sad day, thoughts and prayers to those families impacted.

My prayers are with HFD, families. firefighters and friends of those lost and those injured. I want this forum to know that members of this department stood on overpasses and escorted a caravan of Bryan Fire Trucks as they brought home two firefighters that have been being treated in Galveston since they were injured in a fire that killed two other firemen earlier this year.
The brotherhood of firefighters will always be there for HFD.
In a perfect world, I would always be a winner---Why is it that I find it so hard to reach perfection???

Yes OB, close nit family in the fire service. The 911 occurrence really bonded us even stronger, and we stand as one when something like this, or the West explosion, Moore tornado happens. They went to work this morning, looking forward to have a weekend off, and then this happens. So sad.

    Thoughts and prayers from Wimberley.

I came across this. I thought it was fitting.

    The Firefighter's Prayer...

When I am called to duty, God, wherever flames may rage,
Give me the strength to save some life whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child before it is too late, or save an
older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout, and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out. I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
to guard my every neighbor and protect his property.
And if according to my fate I am to lose my life this day,
Please bless with your protecting hand my family this I pray.

They lay it on the line on a daily basis in our big cities as well as the volunteers in the small towns when they leave their regular jobs to fight the fires
