2010 Brownwood..... would've won state if hadn't run into the buzz-saw that was Carthage. Took them to the wire. As much talent as any 3A team in last 15 years.

2011 Alvarado..best defense in 3a that year, secondary was among the best in state, power running game with effecient passing game was almost unstoppable lost 20-19 to Chapel Hill in title game. would be an excellent at large team in your bracket for sure.

***Homer Call*** - 1994 Port Isabel Tarpons. Unbeaten regular season. Knocked off #1 and heavily favored Cuero (20-20, advanced on penetrations 5-3). Ran into a buzzsaw called the Sealy Tigers in the State Semi-Finals, who were on their way to the first of four championships in a row. Final record for 1994 PI, 13 Wins, 1 Loss (Sealy), 1 Tie (Cuero)

The best High School game I ever saw...no offense meant to the Wylie croud. In the game, Gilmer legend was made...

In the Texas Class 3A Division I Semifinal at Bowers Stadium in Huntsville on Dec. 5, 2009, coach calls a pass play...Gilmer Buckeyes quarterback Darian "Stump" Godfrey on 3rd-and-10 calls a time out...tells Jeff Traylor to give him the ball..."what makes you think you can do it?"...Stump replies, "I gotta State Championship to win"... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyqUG...eature=related (watch the whole thing)...Godfrey made the final score 42-36 over the Cuero Gobblers. The Buckeyes won their second Class 3A state championship a week later in Dallas at SMU's Ford Stadium with a 43-26 win over Abilene Wylie. Gilmer was 15-0 for the season.

`95 Commerce Tigers. First trip to State Final game. Underdog Tigers came within 2-pt conversion in last minute of game to upset Sealy in their 2nd of four consecutive titles. Heck`uv a game.
