As an update (4-12-16) UT has 52 National Champions in all sports. They have won at least one in 24 in Men's Sports and 27 in Women's Sports. They are as follows:

Men's Sports

4 in Football in 1963, 1969, 1970, 2005
3 in Golf 1971, 1972, 2012
12 in Swimming and Diving in 1981, 1988, 1989, 1990. 1991, 1996,
2000, 2001, 2002, 2010, 2015, 2016

Women's Sports

1 in Cross Country in 1986
9 in Swimming and Diving in 1981, 1982, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987,

2 in Tennis in 1993 and 1995
6 in Indoor Track and Field in 1986, 1988, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2006
5 in Ourdoor Track and Field in 1982, 1986, 1998, 1999, 2005

Other Sports include the following Men's Sports: Basketball, Cross Country, Tennis, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field.
Women's Sports: Golf, Rowing, Soccer, and Softball. Unfortunately they don't count quidditch or beach volleyball.

We have come close in some of the other sports but just couldn't get it. We now have 51 and hope we can get some more and be well in the 50s soon. We finally got off the 50 number.
