    Default Casino's in Texas

Give me reasons for or against Legal Casino's in Texas.

Personally I think Casino's should be legalized. The money that Texas residents spend in Casino's in Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico could really save millions on dollars.

Now the state is wanting to close some Junior Colleges and Community Colleges along with some nursing jobs to alleviate the budget.

Been to Coshutta only once in my lifetime and no others.

I would support gambling in Texas to support tax $$ in the state.im sure plenty of big cities would buld themand people would come.

I might go- if not to gamble much- for the food if anything else.

I gamble on blackjack mainly when we gon on cruises- Won about $50 on our last cruise in Dec on Royal Carribean from Galveston.

I did a speech on this a few semesters ago. Something like 90% of Shreveports business is from Texas. The money leaving the state is a pretty big sum.

Thats true. I was talking to a bartender at Diamond Jacks who was wearing a Dallas cowboy shirt when the Saints were playing the Cowboys....he told me where his tips came from.

A quick survey in any of the parking garages will back up your statement. I'm just afraid if Texas got Casinos they would just drop it in the general fund and go wild on special interest things for their buddys. We would be broke again in one or two sessions.

Isn't it strange that after a bombing everyone blames the Crazy Azz bomber(s), but after a shooting the problem is the gun?

My wife could have more to gamble with if she was driving all the way to Oklahoma.

I'm surprised there is only 1 no vote right now.

Of course, keep the money within the borders; at very least an increase in minimum wage paying jobs for Texans.

No way on the increase of minimum wage. It's plenty high right now.

I have been in one Casino in my life, was kinda sad to me to see so many people that did not appear to have the resources to be there.

I personally do not gamble but the benefits of casinos would not last long and then what do you do then? Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

why would the benefits not last?

And whether someone should blow their money or not should be their choice imo
