This kind of puts life into a proper perspective doesn't it? All those petty squabbles and arguements with loved ones seem a little less important today! I encourage everyone to take time to tell those around you how much they mean to you and how much love they bring to your life. You never know when you might not have another opportunity.

I just got a text message from pirate4state telling me about this, and I'll be honest when I say I shed a few tears for LE Dad and his family. I am truly sad to hear about this...even though he and I had some pretty fierce debates, I always had a lot of respect for him. If there is a Heaven, I'm sure he is there looking down on all of us...he truly was a great man.

I'm not sure I can put into words what this tragedy is.
    RIP LEDad.
I considered you a friend. You registered on this board and within a short time had endeared yourself to so many here with your wit and wisdom. I will remember you for all of the positive marks you left here. You were a special person, indeed. I regret never having the opportunity to meet you in person and I am sure you are smiling down on all of us from a special place indeed.
    God bless you.
    God bless your family.

I didn't read all the news links but was alcohol involved or how exactly did it happen? My condolences go out to all his friends and family.

Wow, I've been out of the loop for a few days and just saw this.

I'm with Gary. Even though I've never met LE Dad in person, I feel like he was one of my buddies. This hit me pretty hard. Which says loads about LE Dad's ability to connect with people and his ability to make each person, stranger or friend, feel important. Because everyone was important to him. Even Rocket.

But his ability to connect with all of us on that level on an internet message board says tons about his character and the type of man he was in real life and the impact he had on those who surrounded him.

Daniel, please don't be a stranger to the board. We'd love to have you stick around. Sounds like you're chip off the old block.

He & his daughter were crossing the street from one parking lot to another when they were struck by a vehicle. No other details regarding the driver have been released to my knowledge.

Apparently, this street is not well lit and very busy after a football game. You would think there would be cops out directing traffic, but there were not. Hopefully now there will be.
