Post Who travels farthest for Games in District

Besides Perryton, who travels the farthest distance for district game. Perryton would have to be hands down since they are about 3 hours north of Amarillo. I know Denver City got kinda screwed in the re-alignment. They will have to travel to Merkel, Sweetwater, and Snyder. All 3 are anywhere from 2-4 hours. I think that is ridiculous.

Greenwood got screwed to by getting moved into the district that takes them toward El Paso and the Mexico Border. Good trips to Couhna (spelling??) though.

Well, Greenwood HAD a long road trip ahead of us. But......with Presidio forfeiting their games, we won't go any further than Ft. Stockton now!!

It would be nice if the Ft. Stockton game was close to the Terlingue Chili Cook-Off in Lajitas. Then you could just make a weekend of it.

Many people I talk to on other boards talk about how bad the travel situation is in West Texas. I dont think there is an answer to the problem. The extra expense has to hurt plus the wear and tear on the team and coaches. Not so bad for us. About and hour or so is the most Commerce has to travel.

They only had 18 - 19 suit up - that was for the ENTIRE high school. No seniors were on the roster, so they decided to just have a J.V. team this year.

That makes sense Ranger Mom. No sense in injuring young players . Good luck to the Rangers!

Kakarot, out in west Texas, they sometimes travel 100 to 120 miles one-way for a district game. Pretty spread out in the far west.
