I say expand to 68 and let all 4 regions have a play in game or the 16 seeds. And then if a 16 ever beats a 1 seed, you can talk about expanding it again

agreed-there is already too much difference between the top and bottom seeds.Originally posted by TheDOCTORdre

A lot of the NIT schools are better than the 14/15/16 seeds in the NCAA. So, why not let more in.

I think if you arent in the top 65 then you dont really have a shot at the NC anyway, and since that is what the tournament is all about, then no keep it the way it is
I have an idea. Let's play 36 games through the months of December and early January ... err, March and early April ... let the two most popular teams play at the end ... and call that game a national championship.
24 down ... 24 to go.

would take too long to fill out a 96 team bracket...
Why don't ALL of the conferences get their regular seaon champ an automatic bid and if another wins the conference tournament then they should get two teams in?
Let's say your conference only allows the Conference Tournament winner into the big dance.
Your 1 seed is 23-6 overall and 15-1 in conference and they lose to a team that is 12-14 overall and 8-8 in conference.
The 12-14 team would advance to the tournament while the 23-6 team has their season end!!

If that's not a sign that the NBA needs to retract then I don't know what is.
