Sweetwater takes long trip to Fort Stockton

We take the nearly 4 hour trip out to Fort Stockton and I will probably be doing as much score board watching as reporting from the sideline...ALCS score watching that is. Mustangs should roll in this one...just hope the Astros find their bats before it's too late.

Like a lot of teams right now, Sweetwater is banged up. Defensive End Reggie Walker is out 2-3 weeks and believe it or not...the Mustangs had a "large move in" a few weeks ago. He was the starting nose guard for 6A Midland High and kid looks like a 5A-6A lineman. He had to sit out for 15 days (3 weeks), not too bad as we had Lamesa, Open and Fort Stockton before he became eligible. He tore his ACL as he was getting some time in the new system on the jv vs. Lamesa and is gone for the season. This was a big blow as the D-Line was all new this year and had been playing pretty well..he would have made it much deeper and stronger.

Backup QB also hurt in the blowout of Lamesa (high ankle sprain) and will miss several weeks.

I think we have a couple more, just not totally sure after the open week.

Not to look past the Panthers this week..but the Seminole Indians are in town next week. More on that game to come...
