I guess it's better just to start a thread for the Cowboys for all season just in case anybody wants to post something.

I guess it's better just to start a thread for the Cowboys for all season just in case anybody wants to post something.
Cowboys 2-3 for the season, but have Jacksonville at home today and are playing their best game so far this season.
Looks like I can put back on my Cowboys cap and don my Cowboys shirt again. The Cowboys lead at halftime 24-0......Yesirree Bob!!
I don't see how touching the pylon without having two feet in bounds would work the same for a defensive player on the opponent's goal line as it does for Td's. I would think you have to touch with both feet and not just one foot and the pylon on an interception or fumble recovery in your opponent's endzone. What's the NFL rule? I guess the NCAA and Texas High School football rulings would be the same.
Cowboys in a MUST win today against a very good offensive Atlanta Falcons team. The Boyz D better play outstanding or their playoff hopes are gone. Beasley already dropped a certain TD from inside the 10......they had to settle for a field goal. You can't win big games like this. It was a very easy catch to make.
Matt Ryan just stands tall back there and fires away......Cowboys need some sacks, turnovers, and offensive firepower today. What they really need is to keep the Falcons offense off the field with long drives that they convert to TD's.
Cowboys get another sack and force a punt......will take over at their own 10 yd line now. Let's see if they can drive it down in at least field goal range before the half and burn some clock.
Cowboys are better up the middle or off tackle on the runs.....not on the edges. Prescott gets sacked bigtime on third and 4. Now the punt with 5 minute left from deep. Falcons have it on their own 40.....Cowboys losing in field position on the past two series.
Falcons are good on the pass.....it opens up their running game which is not very good. Now a sure interception by Heath is just not handled and tucked. Same ol' deal for the Boyz.....they just keep blowing good opportunities and cannot capitalize like good professsional teams should......all season long. I think it's a lack of concentration and confidence, not talent. Maybe even discipline......I dunno......but it looks amateurish at times.
That missed interception could cost the Cowboys here......and may come back to haunt them later. This is just the kind of plays that aren't being made we've seen all season by the team.....on both sides of the ball. It's called execution.....or lack of it....when the opportunity presents itself. Just like the Beasley drop of the TD pass earlier that turned into a field goal. Otherwise the Cowboys would be leading this game now.....it makes all the difference in how the game goes forward and how the momentum is carried forward.
So the D holds Atlanta to a field goal......but not without losing an opportunity to capitalize on what appeared to be an easy interception that a high schooler would make.
When you go back and begin to analyze the games that the Cowboys lost......you start seeing the same kind of lack of execution and missed opportunities rearing its ugly head that the more disciplined and successful professional teams just don't do. In this game you have to limit your mistakes and maximize your opportunities......the Cowboys are failing miserably in Football 101 in those paramount areas.
Cowboys 3
Atlanta 6
Halftime
Houston Texans miss a field goal wide left before the half......that's a big missed opportunity also. They are playing the Redskins in Washington. Jacksonville kicker makes his 56-yarder before the half......see the difference?
Houston 17
Washington 7
Halftime
20-7 in the pro game is much, much different than 17-7 as a halftime score.
Cowboys take the 2nd half kickoff and are marching. At the 50, Prescott delivers a very good sideline pass to Cooper on a great catch. Boyz now at the 40. Prescott is sacked.
A short pass leaves them 4th and 2.....a long field goal attempt here is good!! Tie game to open the 2nd half......now the D must hold the Falcons and hope the Dallas offense can gain a lead in this game. The Falcons offense can be explosive at times.
Dallas 6
Atlanta 6
Early 3rd
Missed tackle by the Cowboys and all of a sudden the Falcons are at the Cowboys 40 in 2 plays.
Kicker Matt Bryant hits a 53 yd field goal for the Falcons. 9-6 now. The Cowboys D did their job again......but the Dallas offense is not doing theirs so far today.
The Cowboys D has kept this Falcons offense under 10 points thru 2/3 of this game......that's a good job so far. . Here comes the dink and dunk by the Cowboys offense again.
Nothing wrong with keeping this game tight until the 4th quarter as long as you can move those chains consistently and get a score. But you cannot keep playing from behind. The defense may not be able to hold the Falcons offense all day long.
Elliot fumbles on that short run for the chains, but lineman Collins scoops it up and advances it two yards for the first. Unlucky and lucky in the same play.
Cowboys churning it on the ground.....at the Falcon 40 now. 2nd and 8.
Pass completed to Cooper for another first down at the Falcon 24 now. Now a pass for 6 yds to the 19 to Smith. Cowboys on the move.
Alex Smith of the Washington Redskins just suffered a terrible broken leg against the Houston Texans. Colt McCoy is the backup coming in now.
Beasley underneath to the 5 on that pass play. Now Prescott on the keeper for a Dallas TD to take the lead. Cowboys miss the extra point.....a HUGE miss!!! Unbelievable!!! But not this season, Huh?
Dallas 15
Atlanta 9
Late 3rd
I think that is called a missed opportunity and not capitalizing. It's also called a bonehead move getting rid of your good and proven kicker earlier this season.
Falcons back at midfield again....but an interception by guess who??? VanderEsch on the tip. Giant development in this game if the Boyz can CAPITALIZE!!!
Now a big run for a TD by Elliot as he broke thru right up the middle for a score!!! Here comes the Cowboys!!! the kick is barely good....barely.
Cowboys 19
Falcons 9
Early 4th
Houston 17
Washington 14
2 mins. left 3rd. Houston marching.
Back to the Cowboys game.....Atllanta for a firstdown on that run. Now at the midfield on that short pass and run out of the backfield.
It's getting dicey out there on both sides now....Here comes the Falcons back.
This game is a looong way from being done. In the red zone now down to the 10 by the tight end.
Now to the 6 on first down on that pitchout and run.
A run to the 4.....3rd and 3 now.
Pass is defended and knocked out by Guess Who....Vander Esch. Cowboys hold for a field goal.....big time play by Vander Esch.
Dallas 19
Atlanta 12
8:26 4th
Lots of time left.....the Cowboys need to burn clock and move the chains here. To Beasley to the 32 now.
2nd and 3 now.....Elliiot missed the hole and is one yard short.
Fake to Elliiot and first down on the keeper by Prescott.
