La Grange Softball Story

Junior Missy Zoch fired two more shutouts, helping La Grange sweep a pair of softball games from Waco Robinson and advance to the Class 4A regional finals.

Zoch, who entered the best-of-three regional-semifinal series with a 0.16 ERA, struck out 13 while pitching 14 scoreless innings at East View High. Lady Leopards catcher Hatti Moore smacked a grand slam in the opening game, and La Grange (34-0) won both contests by 5-0 scores.

Moore has eight homers and 51 RBIs this season.

Zoch improved to 26-0 with the two wins.

A defending state champion, La Grange will face Carthage or Huffman-Hargrave next week in the regional finals.
