I have seen that before. Running up and down the field all night, get down in scoring range and start passing, a few State Championship games lost by doing that.

How bout them PUNCHERS!
Good job PUNCHERS. Thanks!
No luck involved, Alvarado made the mistakes at the wrong time and Chapell Hill didn't The best team won. Great ball game, it is the way a state championship should have ended. Chapell Hill you are the best in 3A this year. Thank you for keeping the trophy in East Texas. The beast from the East is alive and well.
Yeah, it's always a lack of class when the team you don't want to win ends up winning. If all the penalties were deserved, then that's your opinion. A Monahans player was ejected for bad sportsmanship. They hit our recievers out of bounds several times, once in front of our bench, and it was never called. Some of the penalties were legit and deserved, but some were not. And many on Monahans were just ignored. It's a two way street. A bunch of haters that wanted Wimberley to play Monahans, that's all. And there were not 5 or 6 personal fouls on Argyle. Jumping to conclusions from hearsay. Watch the game film and see for yourself before denigrating these boyz. I am an Argyle fan, my son a former player, and I will stand up for them on here, regardless. Watch the gamefilm first, and then make your decision. These boyz are trying to win. If they did make mistakes, it was not intentional. You guys act like a bunch of haters.
Haha hating?? When you get 5 or 6 personal foul penalties in one game I don't care who you are there is something wrong
I'd agree to say the best team tonight, won. But by a slim and I mean slim margin. I wouldn't call Chapel Hill a "beast" of a team. They got it done.
Wimberley will be the other 3A team to win the SC. Not a "beast from the East".
Congrats to Chapel Hill on winning the State Championship.
Congrats to Alvarado on a great effort and fine season.
Both teams played with class and it was a good game to watch.
I usually will pull for a team that beats a team I am cheering for but this will not be the case with Argyle. That was the dirtiest team I have seen in quite a while. It was actually 4 personal fouls called in the first half but the Eagles also have several illegal cracks, chop blocks, and uncalled late hits.
Argyle has a ton of talent but very little discipline.
Loboes thanks for representing West Texas like you always do.
First of all, who cares who you support? I sure don't. Secondly, if those homer West Texas refs would have called half of the penalties that Monahans actually had, the penalty yardage would have been close to even. Stop pouting, you got beat soundly by a better team and the score should have been 50-7.
There's always some sore losers in the mix. The boyz wanted to play as mistake free as possible, and got caught up in their own desires to win. Calls were overlooked by the refs regarding Monahans, and that wasn't right. Sometimes that happens when the other team is so dominating. We are just the fans, and what happens on the field is out of our control. For the most part, Monahans just got whooped and Argyle was severely penalized all night. They should not complain. The Loboes escaped many calls that should have been made. Why complain about penalties that benefitted your team all night?? Because your team lost and lost soundly to a better team??? Black Attack is right on this one. The score was not indicative of the actual game. It could have been much more lopsided, and everyone that listened or saw it knows that much.
Well thank you Mrs. Helper for being in the know. Wherever they were from they were horrible and one-sided, and anyone who says otherwise is just being stupid and obnoxious. We know people hate Argyle and don't want to see them do well, and are miffed when they do, but we don't really care.
regaleagle and blackMagic, first of all the better team won, what I don't understand is why you think it has to be justified concerning the actions of Argyle. There have been multiple comments from others with no dog in the fight, yet you act like a little boy in crying about homerism and people just don't like Argyle. It seems that your the one still crying concerning each teams actions. Move on and try to have some class, trust me the Texans are worth being concerened about at this point. You will have your hands full.
Let me say if they were working this game last night they were not horrible. They were some of the best the state has to offer, and were agreed upon by both schools. Sometime the tone of the game may cause officials to make calls that are questionable, but they call the games the way they are played, and enforce the rules as needed...

You know, i'm not really sure. I thought that Argyle traveled a little better than i thought they would considering the distance, and Monahans had much less than i expected. 4,000 maybe. I do wish Argyle would build something similar to what you guys have. Nice place!

Anyway, we are very thankful for our facilities and glad you enjoyed it. Congrats to Aygyle!

I heard the same thing from a real reliable source about the refs. :iagree: I also agree with BLACKATTACK though, they sure did look like they were from Momnahas, not just west texas.
I drove over to the watch the game and it did look a little "fishy" the way the calls were going. A few of the late hit calls were because Argyle was "playing till the whistle blew", the problem there was they weren't blowing the whistle or calling the play dead until the flag was thrown. One of the "late hits" was where the Argyle player was trying to catch himself and landed on all fours, straddled the Monahans RB and the side judge (the one on the home side) couldn't get the flag out fast enough. It was pretty funny really. It looked like he had a little green parrot on his shoulder telling him," throw the flag, throw the flag". So he threw the flag. lol Then on the same side of the field, same side judge, one of the WR for Monahans was mugged by the Argyle DB and he acted like nothing happened.
Then there was the back judge, OMG, this guy throws a flag for 12 men on the field, he and the white hat do the counting (both of them counted the Argyle defense), the white hat waves off the flag, then just before the snap the 12th man on the Argyle defense runs off of the field. Are you kidding?? Then with Argyle in the "BULLS" formation (a full-house backfield) #3 gets the ball, fakes right, goes left and is actually walking into the EZ (because there is not a Monahans player within 5yds. of him). He is 1-2 yds. deep in the EZ and is lit up by a defender and no flag was thrown. I would love to hear the explanation for that no call.
IMO overall this was the worst called game I have ever seen for both sides and I live in Snyder where, well, you know. LOL
Y'all take that crap to the Monahans/Argyle thread!

Calallen gets opening kickoff, Calallen to start on its 40.
EXCELLENT POST! Argyle was not playing dirty. There were NOT 6 personal fouls. Whoever started this should not post blatant lies! That back judge had the yellow flag in his hand before the play started because he knew that he was going to throw it. Monahans had two very "dirty" plays as well on the end zone hit and the out of bounds hit but they were not called. It seems like every time we beat someone, it is because we are "dirty" - sad really. Accept your crow and move on to basketball.
You guys should get your facts straight before posting.
