La Grange just went up right before half....not sure on the score though....there was some controversy....I THINK it may be 19-17 La Grange.

What a great game between two of the best 3A teams in the state.

Sounds like it was a real tough physical contest, with players limping off left and right, only to suck it up and come right back into the fray. I didn't get to go, but I listened to it on the internet and the announcers were raving all night about what a great athlete Wilkerson (?) is and what class he showed after the game when he went through the handshake line and continued over to the Sealy sidelines to shake hands with the coaches and support personnel. Mutual respect shown by the teams as they mingled at midfield after the ritual handshake to wish each other luck in the playoffs.

An excellent effort by both team. It is tough to lose but the Leps never gave up. Hats off to Sealy and especially Miller and Downy, two blue chip athlete's. Good luck to all the D25 teams going forward in the second season.

Bravo Sealy-good play. A few lame calls by the ref's tonight but water under the bridge. LG rallied but came up 7 points short. Confirmation on a hard hitting game with altered gaits noticed during post-game handshakes. I'm sure a little R n R and belly full of pig in the blankets manana can facilitate healing. Good luck to Sealy in Division I playoffs-make D25 proud. We'll be ready for Sweeny next Friday-playoff site will be confirmed later tonight!

I agree that it is going to happen. Sweeny will have their hands full this weekend with a GREAT LaGrange team

Sealy has all aspects of the game....running game, passing game, speed on defense, special teams, superior athletes and Jimmie. Any word on where LG will play Sweeny?

For those of us fortunate enough to wittness this classic battle it was well deserving of the pre-game hype. It was a great night for Texas Football. The Tigers came out clicking on all cylinders as did the Leopards. The Wilkerson kid is a very good player, and is a true gentleman. The battles between Downey and Wilkerson even away from the ball were fun to watch. It seems the officials were able to regroup or visit the rule book during halftime. The ridiculous penalties were forgotten as they "let the boys play"
In the end the Tigers manged to keep the Leps at bay with their defense and earn a district championship and a undefeated season. Hats off to the LG fans and stadium crew, great hosts. Good luck in the play-offs to both teams

Saving the best band for the last act was proven in La Grange last evening. The Leopards and Tigers put on a show for the ages. Back and forth
up and down the field, stiff defensive efforts and
quality performances by both offenses. Both knew when it was over they saw their best opponent in their last district game. The best running backs in the district, the best quarterbacks in the district and the best receivers in the district were showcased in this one, and all in attendance got their money's worth in La Grange last evening.
Downey and Miller came to play and so did Schnieder and Wilkerson. Both teams deserve a long run in the road ahead in the state play offs. Best to both teams.

Why all this bandying about of the adjective "great" wrt LaGrange? LG is a good team with many good athletes who play hard, but "great" teams don't lose two district games. Does that make Giddings and Sealy "great" as well? LG has had some "great" teams in the recent past - teams that won state championships and sent players on to D1 success in college. I don't see where this team has proven itself to be in their class so far.

Message to Who-Dinky: G-town has to get past La Vernia in 2nd round before having an opportunity to play LG again! Remember 2001! Oh, stripped turtle: we have a bunch of "great" kids playing football this year. I guess your a little defensive with Schneider and Wilkerson picking apart Tiger secondary. Give me a break TT the Great!!

A rematch between Giddings and LG would be epic. But first........Brookshire Royal and Sweeny....

I've followed LG football closely for the past 11 years. This team has the potential to be one of the great ones like the 2000-2003 teams but they have yet to win a big game. Now they are in the playoffs and it is a new season. Sweeny will be a tougher opponent then any team LG has beaten so far. Getting by Sweeny will tell a lot about how "great" this team is.
