check out the band my cousins playing with. ive given them a spot on here once before a year ago, they're working on their second cd and are getting better and better every show, just saw them up at billy bobs last week, great show.

Josh Abbot Band (http://www.myspace.com/joshabbottband)

"all of a sudden, good night for dancing, taste, buried me" are all good songs, one of my favorites they play not on their myspace is "here i stand" they've got a few of their songs on the radio right now. new cd is sounding great. all of a sudden is their current single out.

Tell us how you really feel...

I like Casey Donahew. Does that make me a 14 year old junior high girl?

Right now I see Texas Music as its own river... just flowing along all by itself with its own way of doing things... but Sooner or later it meets up with the other rivers in the same old ocean of crap with no memory of exactly where it came from... that's where it's heading...

At some point you have to dam the thing up... let some things through but hold on to others... throw in some catfish, some bass, some striper, introduce some walleye and redfish (though redfish won't spawn in freshwater and you must keep stocking them).... build some camping areas... throw in a put-put or something... a little diner... some swing-sets... some hiking and biking trails... build more boatramps for boats and jetskis... tie of a nice swimming area... do more electrical hook-ups for campers... maybe set a "roughin' it" style campground off to the side so people can feel the outdoors a little more... maybe open up a paintball area... get you a cowboy with some horses to do small trail-rides around the lake etc...

just have something for everyone, because right now a lot of us lean more toword Americana because Texas Music has become log-jammed with cookie-cuttin' no talent-havin' Casey Donahew types that shouldn't be any closer to Texas Music than a plugged in radio should be to a bath-tub...

I think we're about to be in the big ocean of pop with the rest of country music... dam the sucker up!

Oh, and please, don't forget your old school roots because we're already losing them (and "the road goes on forever" isn't the only damn old school song that counts)...

I'd put Casey Donahew and the like in a Frat Country closet in the house of Texas Music...

was playin' pool, crackin' jokes and downin' Lite at our favorite little bar in Ganado a few weekends ago when a girl (cute, btw) ended up playing nearly the whole Casey Donahew album on the jukebox... I went over and nearly broke myself selecting "Make your song first: 2 credits"...

She says: "oooh my favorite song is next here it comes baby"...

jukebox says: "People say I'm no good, crazy as a loon, I get stoned in the morning, get drunk in the afternoon."

She says: "what the expletive"

Me says: "Ahhhh, a breath of fresh air........ rack 'em"

Wooderson chimes in: " A little foosball, Gobbla?"

Me says: "dude, Wooderson, I'm playing pool. Besides, there is no foosball table here. And even if there was, I do not want to play foosball!"

Wooderson, calm and collected, replies : "Be a lot cooler if you did..."
