Ingleside @ Robstown

At this point the likely scenario in this game is if Ingleside wins they secure a playoff spot and Robstown stays home. If Robstown wins then they secure a playoff spot and Ingleside stays home. Ingleside will remain true to their form and utilize their 50/50 balanced offense. Robstown’s offense will do the same. IMO Ingleside’s D has done an outstanding job this year making the stops when necessary. My prediction on this game is Ingleside by 7-10.

Any thoughts/predictions?

There is 3 teams that can pass the ball in district, Sinton, Ingleside and Robstown is the other team that can pass the ball and Ingleside struggled against the spread. I think Robstown can put up some points to make this a game but Robstown defense plays off the recievers and try and get a good hit on you to knock the ball loose. Inlgeside offensively should be able to score on most of its possessions. Ingleside 42 Robstown 28

It will be very close and Robstown has the advantage of having the home field. But I think Ingleside will win by about 3 points.

Home field and elimination if Robstown don't win. They may not win, but I expect them to make a heck of a game out of it. Not gonna predict this one.

I've had the opportunity to see all these teams. The Game the Pickers loss to Mathis was a lot more lopsided than the 42-33 score suggested. I predict Ingleside winning this one big.

After punching their first football playoff ticket in 42 years last season, Robstown is on the verge of going back-to-back.

The situation is pretty clear for Big Red entering the final game of the regular season. The Pickers absolutely have to beat Ingleside to have a shot, and even then it could be dicey.


If Sinton should lose to West Oso, tie-breakers would come into play.

Either way, they need to put it all together this week.

"We had a tough game against Sinton, made some mistakes and lose by one point in double overtime. The next week, we had a chance to almost sew up our playoff berth (against Mathis) and we didn't show up to play and the kids understand that," Head Coach Doug Wood said. "Now it comes down to win the last one or you go home."

Senior quarterback Joe Munguia is keenly aware of the task at hand.

"It's come down to the last game," he said. "You know there's a lot of pressure, but we put ourselves into it and we've got to get ourselves out."

This is an important game for both teams, and both will 'bring it'. The truth, painful as it may be to some, is that Robstown will be outmatched in every aspect of the game. If the Mustangs limit turnovers this game will be over by half-time, regardless of turnovers the outcome will be the same. Ingleside by a lot. Sorry Pickers but it's too late in the season be protecting anyone's feelings. The truth is the truth. Ingleside will have to beat themselves in order for Robstown to come away with a victory.

What does Robstown bring to the table as far as standout players, because they have done pretty well so far this seaon despite the losses to Sinton and Mathis? As a comparison early on in the season:

Rio Hondo vs. Robstown

then in district play the difference in points vs opponents is about 7.

This may be true.. I will say this because it has held true for the entire season at least so far. If Ingleside can get a 7 to 10 point lead I feel that we can hold onto it.
