What's your school's athletic policy for athletes who are late for Athletics?

Athletes get disciplined? Interesting theory

I don't know the actual policy, but if I were coach simply being late would mean laps around the track under a certain time limit...missing the time limit would mean an extra lap or two. More serious offenses would result in the usual benching for a set number of games or tossing them off the team.

5 minutes late, gotta sit on an ant mound for 5 minutes. Works great, kids run to practice.

Idk how it is with Coach Allen in Sinton but I remember when Coach Mitchell was there would have to do "up-downs" the length of the football field with either coach y or coach goad.

When I was a freshman is was 200 yards of bear crawls, or dragging/carrying a tire above your head. Of if there was multiple people, you piggy backed 200 yards.

i know when the whole team is made to do up downs for one or two guys being late, the team will handle the problem WITHOUT the coach's assistance......:helpme: :foul:

In Glen Rose I believe they have to role 100 yards per every 5 minutes late. Its lots of fun I hear! :D

Here's what I used to inflict. I took the total number of minutes late for practice (let's say 5 - 2 players two minutes late, 1 player 1 minute late).

At the end of practice, we would have 5 cones spaced 5 yards apart. They would sprint to the first cone, do 5 pushups, come back, do five pushups, go to the 2nd cone, etc., etc., etc. When they were done with all five cones, that was "1". "2", "3", etc. would follow.

As a twist, the kids who were late did not have to do it. Only the kids on time. In the end, it seems sort of twisted, but it worked. There was a lot of positive peer pressure to be on time.

Some school requires a conviction in a court of law before they can provide any discipline.

Is running the bleachers outlawed? I would have voted to outlaw them 30 something years ago. :D

This brings us to the reason behind the question. Bleachers to me don't do crap. Our inept AD allows other teammates to run bleachers for the late/absent athletes (to help them out as a team building activity) has become quite the joke in the coaches office.

I'm still digging the ant mound theory.
