He had great numbers for the night but his team lost. Plus he had ball in his hands at the end of the game and did not get it in the endzone one more time. Not trying to take anything away from the young man but if you are the POW your team must win IMO.

shipley has it on the strength of the opponent....

honorable mention should go to coldspring qb chad allen against a much weaker opponent, nevertheless, the senior went 6 for 10, 206 yds, 34.3 yd/avg, 2 td's, ran 4 times for 42 yards, 10.5 yd/avg, 28 pt lead in 1st qtr, 35 pt lead at half.....called off the dogs in the third qtr....

Agree on this, Shipley was double covered and sometimes tripled covered all night and had a 3rd string QB throwing to him. I will be the first to admit, if Shipley was still on the bench with a shoulder injury, we dont win this game. Therefore that would make him very good choice for POW

Looking4number8 you beat me to it. I was reading this thread this morning and I was thinking with a name like that, you really need to make sure of yourself before every post because you will be scrutinized more than most.

Another vote for Shipley...the kid played his heart out against Wylie, and then led his team to victory over Graham. Lots of confused folks in this thread...Shipley is a WR and Brownwood won the game.

no need for the hhmmmmm :( I said why I made the mistake - I was working, talking on the phone and posting all at the same time (I know, no excuse lol) and was thinking about the good game the QB from China Spring had and was just about to post something about him (Bell) then I saw the post about Shipley and it said he shouldn't be nominated cause his team lost and I knew they didn't lose and I got all mixed up - sue me, I made a mistake..........

I gotta go with the Brownwood QB. With that much pressure in only his second game, he played an outstanding game.Gotta hand it to the Lions they have a team that will be dangerous for years to come.

Thanks grahampaw. I know you guys will lose some very good players to graduation after this season, but Graham has a lot of talent coming back next season. Your JV and freshman teams were very good too.
