The game is for the district title pretty much. BR beat Columbia 35-0


Sweeny beat Columbia 14-8. Common opponents don't mean much, BUT that's interesting to look at.

I think I'll root for BR. I'd like to see them win district. Would be a great story and give them confidence for years to come. Always nice to see teams turn a corner. :clap:

I agree - In D26, I'd prefer to see Needville win district but if that's not possible, I'd like to see BR have some success.

If we have a circle of wins (BR beats Sweeny AND Needville beats BR) then there would be a 3 way tie that goes to the points system. Since Needville lost by 22 to Sweeny, it's highly unlikely that they win the district unless they beat BR by 25 or so (which is unlikely).

I said a few weeks ago after we played them that I couldn't understand why they weren't any better than they were then. Looks like they have turned it around and are starting to play to their potential. Good to see.

They played a solid game on Friday night against Columbia. They've had a pretty good O for a while, but they're D just shut us down. Impressive win.

They didn't have anyone out. Someone mentioned that they had Flu symptoms during the week, but one of my buddies is the one who scouted them and he said that all of their pivotal players were playing.

Shane Alexander our 1st Team all district WR and DB was out and on the sideline with a mask on his face (flu)
Our First Team Center was out....then our back up went out in the 2nd quarter and we had a freshman playing Center..thats tough against WOS noseguard, who was fast as hell.
Left Tackle was out with flu..we converted a DT to o line on wednesday. As i have said before...WOS would have beaten us anyway on that night. But WOS1 is wrong about no starters out.

Sweeny's win over needville has changed things up. Many people thought the Royal-Sweeny game would be determinig 2nd and 3rd place. My guess is Sweeny must be getting better than they were earlier this year. With the speed on both teams, the team with some defense will win!

Just and FYI most districts 3 team tie breaker rule limit the positvie/negative points to +/-18 so Sweeny is basically at +18 and Needville is at -18. Dont know if this is the case in this district

I personally think Sweeny wins this game and goes on to win the title.

I think Needville beats BR as well to take 2nd. Anyways after this game the seedings could be final no matter what happens in week 10.

Needville- Div I vs Sealy most likely 1st round (assuming Sealy does not lose last two games versus Bellville and La Grange)

Sweeny -Div II #1 seed vs La Grange most likely
BR- Div II #2 seed vs Giddings most likely

There is a chance that might happen. Keep hearing that EC might drop to 3a. Would love to see those two teams in the same district.

Other than that happening there realy is not a consistantly good 3a program in that area that could join the district with Cuero

I think the short passing game will be ok. They have had a few wet games already and will know what to do. The only thing I am worried about will be the soggy field and players getting injured. Should be a great game. Good luck to both teams.
