What the hell MODOC means? Been on this board for over 2 years and havent ever come across the meaning.

How did you miss all the posts on this last year before the Navasota game?

Apparently it is a river (or inland) pirate rather than a sea pirate.

Seems like it would be easier to call them a river pirate.:thinking:

They were actually originally known as "land pirates", "timber pirates" and "cattle pirates". I don't think water had anything to do with the name. They were essentially a large group of outlaws and fugitives that inhabited the La Vega land tract back in the mid-1800's.

Here's a 1958 article detailing the origin of the term. The first couple of paragraphs covers most of it.

BEAST :confused: :confused: Thats funny cause when ya'll played La Vega you started a thread titled MODOC and someone answered this very question. :rolleyes:
