You can put a picture in your signature at anytime. I don't remember how to do it off the top of my head, but I am sure some of the techies on this board would love to show you how.

The avatar and signature capabilities are both under the user cp....one is under edit profile and the other under edit options.

The poster above is correct, for an avatar you must have 1500 posts or have made a donation.
