Region II Week 8 Top 25

District play has started to separate some teams from their previously high expectations.

Lovejoy couldn't turn a 5-0 record into a win against Farmersville, relegating them to at least second place in 13-3A once again.

Celina lost at home against Prosper to even both teams at 1-1 in 9-3A; i still expect both to clearly reach the playoffs, but now Celina has a potential D-2 hurdle in Argyle, a team they could possibly face twice.

Canton fell to 2-4 Eustace, Gainesville lost 35-14 againt Sanger and Mount Vernon fell 40-0 against Liberty-Eylau, giving all three their second loss (5-2) and putting a serious damper on their respective playoff chances.

Things are lining up in D1. Looks like Wills Point, Lovejoy, North Lamar, Alvarado, Prosper, Liberty Eylau and whoever from D/fw schools will be in the running. :thinking: :thinking:

i can almost guarantee Prosper and LE will play each other in the Regional finals. Lovejoy and Wills Point are the only teams in d1 that have improved from last year other than those two, and none of the other six have come up enough to make a huge difference so far.

Thats what it looks like. LE is finally starting to hit full stride. It will be a great matchup. Hard to believe playoffs are almost here.
