Add Devine vs Hondo to that list. Devine NEEDS a win to have a chance. That makes the rivalry a little more intense.

At this point, with the HUGE win over Sealy last year, I'll take Cuero as #1 until prven otherwise. Smithville > Bellville. Also, if Needville is #5 and Sweeny #13..... then W.C should be ranked. Put up a valiant effort and very easily could have beat Sweeny, and yes Columbia lost by 3 scores to Needville, BUT that game was 27-14 in the 4th qt and Columbia put up a good effort there. Obviously I'm a homer, but it's my opinion. Good Job though Reg4 Editor!

Random musings about match-ups between top 20 teams and the impact of those games on next weeks rankings.

Teams on the outside that we're watching,
Mathis,
Brookshire Royal
Luling (with a win it'll be 4 of 5)
Zapata
Rio Hondo
Raymondville

Who else?

This week's top 20 match-ups

1. Sealy vs. Smithville...Sealy stays in top 10 regardless of outcome...Smithville stays in top-20 W or L

2. La Grange vs. Giddings...both are top 10, or better, no matter the outcome.

3. Needville vs. Sweeny...Needville is in, Sweeny as well barring a complete blowout loss and don't think that's happening.

4. Hondo vs. Devine...Hondo is top 20 material, don't know if a 4 loss Devine stays in?

5. Bellville vs Columbus...sure would be tough to not keep Bellville in no matter how they do...Columbus on the other hand has gotten beat bad the last two weeks. I know they're in D25 and all that, but another blowout loss and they may be out.
