There's a whole LOT of backroads in Upshur County, and the vast majority of those have creeks which flood over the roads when we get as much rain as we've had over the past month. At my wife's school, they considered closing their school because of flooding on county roads. I was surprised when they didn't. There were several instances yesterday where the school buses could not get the kids home because of flooding. One of the teachers had to be driven home yesterday in a 4-wheel drive because she couldn't get to her home.

Is there any more rain in the forecast? Hopefully people can make it to the game on Friday.

Do you think rain will keep Gilmer fans from coming to the game?

Are you going to the parade? My wife and daughters will be in it. Look me up and I'll save a spot for ya...:)

For the most part, I'm skipping the Yamboree.

We live in Tyler and my wife works weekdays. My 4-year-old is staying with her grandparents though who will be taking her for a while each night though.

I won't actually get to go until Saturday afternoon. Which is fine because I hate the Yamboree. It's nice to be able to meet up with old friends and things like that but that's about as far as it goes for me.

Oh, and go Buckeyes!

If I didn't have kids, I probably wouldn't go, either, except to the parades and to eat some of the good food. About the only thing I like to do up there is to listen to music, and people watch. The Yamboree brings out thousands of people I've never even seen before. When I was single, I used to go to the barn dance every year, too, but that's no longer any fun since they won't let you hang out afterward and drink beer.......:D I don't drink anymore, but that used to be the only time of the year where you could actually drink alcohol in public.... :)
