Giddings always has players in that category, and
certainly the La Grange and Smithville QB's are getting attention from the likes of D-1 programs across the country.

I understand that Sealy has a couple of early commits to D-1 programs,

The big time running back and the tall wide out
have both played well early this season, and
earned their stripes.

The deeper this strong district goes in the playoffs, the more attention all of our youth will
will receive. The district is loaded with talent this year, and looks to be an exciting next four weeks for us as fans.

Hope the best for all in our district !

I'm sure #5 out of sealy is gettin offers,

Bellvilles #36,#9,#6 probably getting offers.

Giddings #2 and #20

I would say our QB definitely is college material, maybe not D1 but can and should play somewhere. Also our WR-Wilkerson has D1 talent, hopefully he will sign somewhere this year because next year LG's offense will be running the Slot-T.

Rumor mill has it that the tall wideout from Sealy has already committed to New Mexico University? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

#14 for Sealy - Bradley Miller - has already commited to New Mexico
#4 for Giddings - ?? Mack - is being pursued very strongly by Colorado

There is a great deal of other talent in the district, many will get college paid for with scholarships; but I don't think that there will be a great deal of D1 offers. 1AA, D2, NAIA definately

Sealy-Miller--New Mexico but looking at other schools

Bellville- I think 2 of their linebackers have some kind of D1 offer (UTEP)

LG- QB has offer from A&M Kingsville and is being looked at by
1-AA schools

Giddings- always has someone going to play college ball

Smithville- Maybe Fierro can get some late looks by colleges. Didn't play QB till this year.

Have you seen his brother Andre? Lord have mercy the kid is a Hoss!!

I'm also curious to see what happens to the Jamison kid. I think his dad played at A&M or Baylor....can't remember which. Might have some connections there for his boy.

Nope, I haven't seen the brother, but I've heard a lot about him. I am going to catch the Sealy/LG game later this year. I wanna see what these two teams are bringing to the table. :)

Well, our JV and Freshmen are running the Slot-T. So it seems likely.

He played at Baylor. As far as I know he has interest from both schools, or so I am hearing.

Along with Ace Fierro I know Smithville has a young sophmore middle linebacker #30 Jacorey Lincoln who's going to be a 4 year starter and is lighting it up this year, he is leading the team in tackles thus far. I'm fairly certain by next year he will be getting some looks, he's the best athlete on the team with great football instincts.

Columbus has 2 possible college prospects:

Cordrick Carter- Has great speed (4.4 in his 40 yd dash), quickness, and will probably be recruited as an athlete especially after starting at QB, RB, WR, FS, as well as a returner. He still has one year left

Kyle Appelt- Sophmore MLB with great size (6'2" and 180 lbs) as well as quickness and awareness on the field. His grandfather played at Texas A&M

If you take any stock in Rival's.com pages, the Miller kid has started taking visits to other D-1 schools, and they now list his New Mexico commitment, "soft". Articles from visits to TCU and from last week's Baylor game and camps this summer are all on line.

Issues at New Mexico with coaches are listed as the reasons for some concern.

Downey is a quality running back prospect, and between the two have spiced up this season's Tiger offense to the next level with balance. Downey will be playing ball somewhere on Saturday next year.

The Tiger's two games in Houston this season showcased Sealy as a team on the upswing, and both games had scouts there to see opponent's D-1 talent and placed notice on both Sealy prospects.

This could get very interesting for both.

I hear that a lot of D1 teams are tryna get their hands on a combo package from the cousins from bellville #36 and #9...

#36 at the linebacker spot and #9 as a safety...both will come up and hit and also play pretty good coverage...both have great speed, #36 bout a 4.5 and #9 4.4

Any offers for that Rb #28?
was talkin with some friends, they say he's the real deal on the track jumping hurdles. He also said #7 was fast on the track and might get a track scholarship? Any truth to this?

My sources tell me this:

-#9 was offered a full ride to North Texas las Spring but is still considering it. May not want to play at the next level
-#36 is trying to get in a D1 somewhere but most college coaches don't see him as a LB because of his lack of size.
-Miller should be a dominant D1 pitcher being left handed and 6'6" tall. Most don't think he's even considering football at the next level.
-#6 I hear is looking to go basketball or maybe two sport.

Oh...one more thing:

#28 is a stud in the 110's and 300's. I saw him run a couple years ago as a sophomore at the Regional Meet....very impressive!!

I wonder why #9 doesn't want to play at the next level...other than his lack of size, he's a great athlete. I can see him playing at the next level...

Other than height #36 has wht it takes to play at the next level.

I agree. It would be a shame to see him not use his talent at the next level especially with a free education on the line. #36 is a beast of an athlete and from what folks tell me he's a smart kid. Hopefully someone sees that and he goes big.

My sources on the Rice staff tell me they are very impressed with Jackson and want him. I hear from good sources in Sealy that the running back cannot make a passing score on the ACT or SAT.

If those 40 yd dash times are accurate that's very impressive. Most high school coaches hand-time the 40 though and is about as accurate as a wild guess.

Downey has already made a high enough score on the SAT to go D1. He hasn't had grade problems since he was a freshman. So please get your facts straight before posting.
