I voted for Jenkins from Caldwell because he not only had four sacks and a fumble recovery, but he was in the Rattler backfield all night and disrupting the offense. He may not have made the sack, or tackle on alot of plays, but I'll bet that if you counted the number of times his pressure resulted in no pass being made, a sack by another Caldwell player, or forced the QB to run for his life, the kid probably was a huge influence in at least 25 plays.

Can I clarify that the 1 INT is one that he intercepted, not one that he threw.

Stump has been nominated about 4 times without winning the award yet. i did not nominate him this week because of the competition. he will have these numbers almost every week and if he doesn't win that will be ok..............i'm pretty sure if things keep going like they are going, Stump will be the 3a player of the year...............no weekly awards nessesary!!!!

How can a kid that played only half a game RB Jamell Woodard of Sweeny get 11 carries 166 yards 2 TD's but yet only get 5 votes?

I would just like to add in for everybody that after reading a local article last night, it came to my understanding that Caldwell's Jenkins was starting his first game, and he led the teams in tackles and actually had or contributed to FIVE sacks!!!

Here's the article in the Bryan-College Station Eagle that recognizes Caldwell's LaDarion Jenkins who stepped in for an injured player. It's rare when even a veteran can top such a performance.
