How many teams have gone to the playoffs in both Div I and Div II? This may be a question for WOS87 to answer. It comes to mind as someone pointed out a scenario in another thread where Bridgeport could end up going DI in the playoffs this season. We have never gone to the playoffs as a DI team.

Liberty Hill went D2 in 06 and D1 in 07. The largest school out of the 3 playoff teams from each district goes D1. In our case, in 07 Hutto and Taylor didnt make playoffs so we were the biggest school left out of us, Rockdale, and Cameron Yoe so we went D1.

Sweeny was a Div I back in the 98-99 seasons and Div II for the rest of the time.

In 2002 Brownwood went into the playoffs as a 4A DI rep from their district then we went DII from then on out in 4A, now in 3A we will be one of the 2 DII reps from our district. During this time the only difference in the number of students is only about 100-125 since the 4A DI run.

Complete Playoff game histories through 2007 are posted for every single Region I, II and III team on the Team Histories pages off of the main page. That reminds me that I need to add in the Region IV ones and also add in 2008.

Click on the playoff history link, and the 3rd column from the left will tell D1 or D2

Click here --->Region I (http://www.3adownlow.com/historyregI.php)

Click here --->Region II (http://www.3adownlow.com/historyregII.php)

Click here --->Region III (http://www.3adownlow.com/historyregIII.php)

You were right about Bridgeport, they've gone D2 every single time since 3A split

Cuero has played in both Divisions.
D1- 98, 99, 2000, 03, 04, 08

D2- 02, 05, 06, 07

Teams that or second or third in enrollment in their districts have a good chance of playing in either division when larger schools don't make the playoffs.

WO-S was only D1 in '04 and '05 their first two years in 3A. We have been D2 ever since and only played in D2 in 4A as well.

Forney was the 3A DII rep in 2000. 3A DI 2001-2003. 4A DI in 2008 and could soon have a 4A DI and a 3A DI rep in the same year
