View Full Version : 3ADL Week 7 Top 25 Ballots

Let's go back to ranking a full 25 teams. The top 20 was easier on me, but the rankings from 20-down needed a little more balance.

Polls to be taken until exactly 11:59 tonight (Monday, Oct 12), so get yours in early. None will be accepted after that. I'll try to have these polls finished sometime tomorrow (Tuesday).

How last week's top 25 fared. (http://bbs.3adownlow.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1309671#post1309671)

navasota very possibly does have the better team, i just have known bison to see things in the past that i didn't and wondered what he saw to keep navasota up on caldwell.....

my blind spot is cleveland at #8. i think the world of coach tullos but can tell you from the one game i saw of theirs that they aren't even as good as last years version, and last yrs team was undefeated and yet taken out by caldwell, they're good but #8 is something else.....

In every game, the best team will not all ways win. Im not going to take anything away from Caldwell, they came in with the better game plan. And oh, that field of theirs was definately in their favor:D .

Seriously, Caldwell's defense played lights out. Add the very poor field conditions and you get a 14-0 Hornet win. Giving a dry field, I will give the edge to the Rattlers. But, Im not going to dwell on that lost. Navasota must get ready for Rockdale.

I'm sorry, but that's just clearly not true. We even missed an early TD due to a turnover and knelt on the play to exhaust the clock when we could have at least got a field goal.

Nav is very good, but I really think Caldwell is a better team like Nav is an 8.5 out of 10 and Caldwell a 9.

Well, this was my first time seeing them play this season.. Last season, on a dry field, they lost by 1 at Navasota. This season, they lost to Bellville.:D

Caldwell routinely loses its home opener because the team never knows how to gauge how good it is yet and no real competition in scrimmages to prepare them. New Waverly? Come on.

Once again, how can you rank Caldwell, Navasota, and Bellville knowing that they have proved the matchup argument once again is legit? Obviously, Bellville has two losses on the season, but Navasota/Caldwell have one each. I am starting to wish we could go DII, because a rematch would be an excellent opportunity to show you that some teams continue to be excellent while others are having off nights. Nobody is saying bad things about Caldwell, but you know when you look at the results thus far, Caldwell has lost to a 4-2 team on their home field, the same team that Navasota beat on the road. Navasota was a little more prominent in the playoffs than Caldwell was last year, so recent successes are factored in to a lot of people's minds. Me personally, I will rank Navasota right behind Caldwell for now. It speaks a lot to people how Navasota was able to hold Caldwell to 14 points despite spending 3/4 of the night on defense.

I will agree that it seems like Caldwell never gets any love in the polls or in preseason. When I picked district this year before our first game, I had Rockdale #1, Caldwell #2, and Navasota #3 because I was unsure of their offensive ability. Dave Campbell will make his picks based on stars each team had plus tradition, hence Cameron's nomination. And yes Yoe fans, I know Cameron is not out of it yet, but I think wins against Caldwell and Navasota are a long shot.

Basically, I like your enthusiasm about Caldwell and your staunch support of your team on this board. I think you need to accept that people have different opinions, and you can't change their opinions by saying things like "I want some of what you're smoking." Stick with it cntdwn.

You have to admit that a big reason Navasota's defense was on the field most ofthe night is largely because Caldwell has the ability and players to get 3-5 yards at a time, thus eating the clock. Part of the game,no?

Caldwell has had one losing season in six years, but AP and Dave Campbell REFUSE to give props unless a few fans remind them that the Hornets even exist.

The Goforth days of 4-6 seasons are behind us.
