I'll nominate Shea Lehman (RB/FS/PR) for Needville.

He threw 1 pass for 25 yards, ran 12 times for 79 yards and 1 TD, caught 2 passes for 88 yds and 2 TD's, converted a 2 pt conversion, had 1 punt return for 13 yards, AND played FS the entire game.

So that's 205 all purpose yards with 3 TD's on only 16 touches, and he accounted for 20 of the team's 33 points, while playing defense the entire game too.

He lead the Needville Bluejays to a convincing 33-14 win over my Columbia Roughnecks. He played a hell of a game making several nice tackles and just doing it all for the Jays. He gets my vote!

Caldwell's LaDarion Jenkins, LB

Four sacks of Navasota's Kye Hildreth, and a fumble recovery late in the fourth quarter that led to Caldwell's second TD.

Isn't he committed to Texas Tech?

Don't know his name but the QB for Argyle - he kept argueably one of the best defenses in 3a (Prosper) on their heels most of the game.

Not sure of his name and I could care less what his stats were but the Qb from Wylie is a STUD. He is a playmaker.

Matt Preston, QB Abilene Wylie. He's going to be the next Case Keenum. He is an accurate passer and is great on the run too. No doubt the best QB in the district and probably the region. Mac Brown will be kicking his own butt for overlooking him for the McCoy kid.

No Jamell is not committed to anyone. I know Houston, Ball State are recruiting him as a RB and Texas is as a return man. Don't know any others.

LB Dillon Dumas, China Spring: 23 tackles, 2 sacks, INT
Broke school single game tackle record that was owned by former Cougar and current Baylor Safety Mike Hicks

QB Brian Bell, China Spring: 23-for-34, 307 passing yards, 4 TDs
Business as usual. That gives him 1,900 yards Passing and 20 TD for the season.

WR Zach Hogeda, China Spring: 8-149, 2 TDs

After giving up 3 offensive TDs through 5 minutes and 7 seconds in the 3rd qtr, the Sinton "D" shut the door on Mathis' offense.

Held them to 76 yards in the 2nd half, most coming early in the 3rd, had a key sack on 3rd down for a 13 yard loss (down 10-28), recovered a fumble (down 16-28), forced a punt (down 23-28), took over on downs (took lead 31-28) and recorded a safety (up 33-28).

And with each stop, they afforded our offense the chance to score the points we needed to win the game!

I'll admit that I felt that even if we scored, we wouldn't be able to keep Mathis from scoring and our D proved a lot of people wrong not allowing a 1st down in the 4th qtr!!!

sealy's "black out D"! the first td came on only a 9 yard drive, and then giddings scored one more in the first, after that, giddings did not score untill the end of the game when the game had been decided. sealy's d only gave up 18 on a great giddings offence

Maybe giving the younger McCoy kid a scholarship kept Colt at UT for his senior and not going in the NFL?

I'd like to nominate the whole Caldwell defense. 8 sacks on Hildreth and held the team to just over 100 total yards for the game.

It was raining and muddy and Navasota runs a spread. Come on. Even pro teams have trouble moving the ball in crappy conditions. Caldwell was helped by the weather and whoever tries to deny it is being stubborn and ignorant, and they know it.

Old Green, Preston passed 9-14 for 148 yds and 1 TD, ran 12x for 64yds and 1 TD vs B'wood last Friday night.

Nothing spectacular there........unless you were there and watching him. Wylie goes 4 deep at RB, their running game is very strong this year. Matt doesnt have to 'do much' with those guys behind him. But he seems to always make a play at the right time. The earlier comparison to Case Keenum was pretty close. I seem to remember Case being a bit faster, but both guys can take a game over when their team needs them too.
