Yeah I dont see this game being even close. I now have Wylie picked #1 in the state, and Snyder not even in the top 20. But somehow Snyder does always pull out their A game against Wylie, so Wylie will only win by 20.

Back in 04 wylie won state, the TIGERS beat them that year. Nobody gave us a chance to win that year either. Thats not living in the past thats just fact.

Well, TigerPride is not the R1 editor, so it really isnt up to him to decide GOTW. And I agree, I think there will be several more competitive games in the region than this one. I seriously doubt this will end up being the GOTW. But its not my choice either, no more than it is TigerPrides.

Hey Trashman,

Sweetwater (1-5) vs. Graham (6-0) has a better chance of being the GotW than this one. ;)

I am actually leaning towards China Spring vs. West. Just haven't had a chance to see how the
whole region did last night.

I predict that I will make myself sick at The Shack on CFS, mashed taters and gravy, green beans and chocolate sheet cake before the game.

then Wylie wins 43-21. Snyder makes it that close after Hugh pulls the starters in the 3rd qtr.

In all fairness I think that Snyder has a good team this year. I do not doubt that, but after seeing Wylie play they are a well oiled machine and are very solid in the depth department also. Sorry but Wylie rolls in this one.

Coach Rogers always prepares the Tigers very well for Wylie. This will be, by far, the best team the Tigers have seen all year, but I fully expect them to be well prepared. They usually play Wylie close, so I expect nothing less this week.

Wylie is huge, they have speed in the back field, and they have a stout strong armed QB who has a big target WR #88 to throw to. Their defense flies to the ball and doesn't miss many tackles. I don't see anyone slowing this team down until deep in the playoffs.

Wylie by 4...

Snyder may have a good team this year..but the current Wylie Bulldogs are something else entirely. It's been a long time since I've seen such a performance week after week against some very good (including ranked 4A) opponents. The 09 Bulldogs won't blow you away with size or blazing speed...but they'll blow you away nonetheless. Think Permian back in their heyday..

Having said that..there is a reason the games are played. Just look at college football where any given week a top 5 team can fall to an unranked opponent. The Dawgs still have to line up and play if they want to win out..

Halestorm
10-13-2009, 08:25 PM
Current trend will continue... 21-0 at the half, then "we brought 60, we played 60." Final 41-21 Wylie.

35-0 Wylie AT THE HALF

Wylie second and third teamers (scrubs for those familiar with last weeks arguments) will score two more in the second half and Snyder will finally get some points late.

49-13 final Wylie rolls.

I've stayed quiet on this one... till now. I think this will be a tough game. Snyder always plays us tough. Always. Playing in Snyder--Against Wylie? Coach Rogers will have no problem getting the troops motivated for this one. He is a very good coach and will have a good gameplan. Suspect he will come with a variety of blitz packages to try to disrupt the offense and pull out all the stops on offense. It will be close... for a half. Wylie will make adjustments then pull away. 31-14 Wylie.

I had a question for Synderites, but didn't want to start a new thread. I though I would just ask it here. Does the success of Snyder football track close to the price of crude oil? In other words, is it more successful when crude is up and less when it's down? Seems to be that way at Permian.
And while I think this is one of the best teams AW has fielded in several years, and believe they will win, I never take anything for granted as far as Snyder and Graham are concerned. Clyde too for that matter. Too many close games over the years.

Something about drinking water that is imported to Snyder doesn't sit well with me. I'm afraid you got it from the old pee trough in Sweetwater. :dispntd: I figure one of you ole codgers latched on to that piece of history when they remodeled. ;)

That's good to know. Maybe he'll have some manners when the Stangs come to our place in a few weeks. ;)

49-13 final Wylie rolls. Man OldBison75, I sure hope you don't make it a habit to put any money on your predictions or you may end of broke.:D :D

Well, I promised to come back with props so here goes:
Snyder's defense was the only defense this year so far that slowed us down...blitzing on every single down actually worked to disrupt what we usually do, and the boys were a little banged up afterwards. Props for being the first defense this year that really tackled well...our backs usually leave 3-4 defenders grasping air and that didn't happen very often tonight. Don't feel too bad about your offense failing to score....Canyon and Brownwood were the only teams so far that have scored on our first team defense. Vernon, Frenship and LaVega couldn't do it either.

Now, on the other hand...the score was close partially because our boys had their worst game as far as execution, fumbles and dropped passes on offense. I hope to never see that again. Also, what was up with the Snyder coaches allowing #24 to run rampant all night with the cheap shots and trash talking out of earshot of the refs? I actually saw him look around for the refs and then come after one of our players as he was walking to the sideline....and then he kept his back turned when Wylie did their school song after the game. He really needs to be reigned in before he hurts you guys with penalties this year. Also, the coach complaining about our band being too loud was pretty funny...I've never experienced that before. Does he not realize that bands are part of high school football?

Hop! Nice meeting with you and your crew!:D

That Snyder defense was on fire, but ours score 7 points and kept Snyder of the score board! Glad to come out of there with a win!

#24 is usually a "hot-head" but his actions did surprise me also, until after the game! i talked to him and he said all that would have been avoided if your guys wouldnt have started the "wet-back" and "spic" slurs that were being thrown out. #24 and #26 are too proud mesicans and that just rubbed them the wrong way! although i agree those kinda things will hurt you later on in the year! but tell your guys to look in the mirror before they point the finger! its 2009 we know we are mexicans you dont have to tell us we are and most of us were born here so actually we are NOT "wet-backs"!

Hey, the next time you're in ESL class, why not spend some time on sentence structure and punctuation?

Wylie has several hispanic starters on both sides of the ball....but there could have been something said. We'll never know since we weren't actually on the field..

In all honesty, even tho all that crap went on at the end of the game that made me upset. I will be very surprised if Wylie is playing for a State Championship this year. They were bad and disciplined to the tee! I was a Sr. and got to play against a very good 2004 team in Wylie. And I thought that team I saw on Friday nite was better than the one before. They will be a force come play-offs!
