The band is what really impressed me in this movie. And it is supported by survivors that it actually happened. The band members accepted their death fate but they kept playing to encourage and calm and comfort others on board. They did it to the end. They kept playing even though those around them were in a panic and not paying attention. It wasn't until the Titanic sank that some of the survivors remembered what they had done and reported it to the press. They did what they could for the others even though they knew their deaths were coming.
