shoudl be a great game. both teams are very good at running the ball. so im sure the weather will not play a part in this game. it shoudl be a very good game to watch.

You are right Jaydog. I know that Needville is 4-1, and Columbia is 2-3, but I know that this is a heated game every year. With the two towns being neighbors, it doesn't seem to matter what the records are coming into the game, it is always going to be a good one. It is going to be a good one to watch and should draw a big crowd.

Columbia is 1-3. The "win" against Brazosport was not official.

Columbia will run it right at you time after time, then run a few bootlegs.

If they hold onto the ball, the Roughnecks win. If the turn it over more than once, the Jays win.

Move the chains I have to diagree with you on a couple of things. The win over B-port was official. I know that the game got cancelled, but when it was cancelled Columbia was on top therefore it was a win. As far as Needville having to have a couple of turnovers to win is not the case either. Columbia will run right at you, but Needville has the best rush defense in the district. I think that plays into Needvilles hands. Columbia has proven for the past three years that if they throw the ball more times than not it goes to the other team. I have to say that with no TO's Needville wins by 2 TD's. Add a TD for every TO after that.

This will be a tough hard fought game like always but the Jay's D will be too much.

Needville by 2 TD's

from what i hear the WC is changing defenses and will be running the Arkansas stack monster, i hope needville is prepared to see a different defense, if they can make adjustments to that, then it should be good game

who really knows what this game will bring. like ex kat said you can take the records and throw them out the window, because evrybody is undefeated. needville has to travel to west columbia to play, so that works into the necks favor. but needville is coming in playing great football right now, but they are coming off a bye week. they will either be well rested and fired up to play or may be a little sloppy. they have four days to figure it out. to me the game is going to come down to offensive linemen. if needvilles linemen can control the line of scrimmage then i say needville wins. thats where this game will be won or lost is in the trenches. whos blue collar guys want it the most.

I'll have to go with the bluejays on this one. It certainly won't be easy though. Its always a tough one when you travel to Columbia.

OKAY, Columbia ran for almost 400 yards on a much more talented 4A Manvel team. I guarantee you they will run it down Needvilles throat. Eliminating mistakes and turnovers is what's necesaary. They will have no trouble moving the ball.

Also, Columbia is coming off a bye week too.

Easy Killer, no reason to get your panties in a wad. I can understand you wanting a certain team to win because it somehow makes you feel better as a person. I guess I gave them that win because in my opinion it makes them look like a better team.
Now, you can say that any team in the state can play better than our boys down here in needville, but the bottom line is they have never played. So again, if it makes you feel like a better or bigger person inside to say that another team is much better than our boys down here then go ahead that is one that we will take.
I am just going to throw it out there, our boys have never lost against a AAAA school as long as my nephew has been there for the past three years.

And I'm from West Columbia, but I don't like it when people who don't know try to correct me.

It'll be a good game, but implying that if Columbia plays a clean game with no turnovers and Needville wins by 2 TD's is crazy talk. Not saying they won't win, because it's a very good possibility.... but if Columbis has one or less turnovers... no way they lose by 14+. JMO

Manvel beat Columbia by only 2 TD's when Columbia turned it over 7 or 8 times.

They've got a lot of heart and actually outgained Manvel that game.

Sean Flannel (RB) didn't play when they got smoked against El Campo. He'll be back on Friday and should have an impact. I can still remember last year when he straight up trucked a Needville player as a true freshman.

My bad. I meant to ask how will wet players and fans (not to mention the band) affect the game.

jaydog34

the wet fans probably wont have much of an impact on the game in my opinion. im pretty sure the players will still determined the outcome of the game wet or dry.

Same way the rain always affects games. I'll be there..... rain, snow, hail, or sunshine.

May not have my phone with available for text updates, but I will be there. Would love to watch a game in the rain. PLZ PLZ no lightning.

We got one, same age as my nephew. Used to start guard for them, but I guess saw himself getting to the next level in flagatree before playing football.

Needville has the Male Flag, not cheerleader. As far as sponsoring, I only wish that I could take credit. Spotting that kinda talent is way over me.

looks like the rain will be moving in soon. its going to be a nasty one. i know needville has had to play in these conditions before and did really well against an unbeaten la grange team. so they should be use to it. dont know if columbia has had to play in any bad conditions yet but that looks like it will change tonight. looks like a ground game in the making. lets see whose hogs will come out on top.
