Yes, after the preseaon game complaints with the Titans, Jerry Jones gave us his ( he loves the Lions). We did not have the budget to hang it so we just set it in front of the visitor stands. Hope you can see over it

I can agree with that. You do bring it on yourself though.. as for my typing errors, get used to it. My ass is almost 50 and school was a long time ago. You are lucky we type this stuff instead of hand writing it, you would never be able read what I have to say.

I think when people call out others spelling errors and typo errors they are just trying to belittle people because they usually got there feelings hurt about being stupid about something else. Wylie by 14... or more. The Dogs are very balanced this year. Probably the best running team we've had since '04 with 5 legit backs that can run the ball--all with different syles, passing offense is about same as usual--nothing flashy, good short passing game but can go deep to Gray 3-4 times a game too. If you do somehow manage to defense both the run and the pass, our QB is big (6'2"/215#) and a good runner. Hard to stop. Like one of the Canyon coaches told me after our game--"Ya'll are a defensive coordinator's nightmare". We tend to eat up the clock with 7, 8, 9 minute drives... put a lot of pressure on the other team to score on every possesion. Against our defense (outstanding BTW), I don't think you can do it. It'll be close early then Wylie pulls away.

Midway thru the first quarter, the Abilene paid refs start using the "running clock" By half time Sandifer is on the phone with his drinking buddies at the UIL (who always fix the enrollment numbers for him) and we have an emergency rule change tweetered to Derick Longoria as he runs back yet another Wylie turnover for a Brownwood TD. The rule change is now 3A schools use the 6 man mercy rule to end the humilation for A. Wylie.

Better have a big play offense to beat Brownwood. If you want to rely on scoring on 7,8,9 minute drives, the pressure will be flipped onto Wylie. We have big play threats everywhere. Make sure Sandifer packs extra jocks for your secondary because there will be about 15 left on the field. Shipley is probably watching film on your secondary now licking his chops (and laughing). Let's see, he is used to playing secondaries in one of the toughest districts in 5A and now Wylie? LOL And if you concentrate on stopping Shipley (which will take at least 2) we will kill you other places. Canyon already exposed your weaknesses to the Spread. Both offenses should do well, but if you rely on the run? We are ready for it.

But, just so you know, I was born at night but not last night. If I believed everything Rocket and them said, I would have rectal cancer from all the smoke blown up my butt.

We have the speed to stop big plays. Yeah you go ahead and put all the stock into the Sville game. That's what Liberty Hill and most of the 3A Downlow did.

You haven't played a team the caliber of Stephenville. And our big play threats were all on the sidelines against Sville, thus the 35-0 score.

They had a great offense and their defense had all their reads right against the Hill (most of the time) but did a poor job of tackling (Sinton is experiencing that this year, yet we are still winning :devil: ) anyway...I don't know about any rivarly between these two, but I keep reading that Wylie has never won at Gordon Wood? Wow. Well, there's a first time for everything!

I don't particularly care for their colors, but I would never count out a Wylie team. Should be a barn burner!

Here's my pick for this one:

Abliene Wylie by 14+ and this involves no dislike for Brownwood, but just how I see this one.

Why: I think Wylie is having another one of those years where they have a team that has no glaring weaknesses. In the past, when they have fielded teams like this they have usually produced a title.

Can Brownwood win? You bet, but IMO, only if they get Wylie into a shootout and score on nearly every possession. If the Brownwood "O" gets stuffed on very many posessions in their end of the field---"Turn out the lights, the party's over..." I think the Wylie "O" is too consistent and balanced to lose in a close game.

Can Wylie lose?--Sure, but I think only if they get behind by 2 or more scores early and make some mistakes.

Canyon exposed many weaknesses. Wylie is coming off of a bye week. Missing a week will always set you back because it strains momentum. Wylie is good and they are balanced and they are senior led. They should be the favorites...

Brownwood has the athletes to hang with them. Our defense is the strong point of the team. All of our best players are on defense this year. Defensively, Wylie will struggle to prepare for Brownwood and contain us. Our QB will only be asked to manage the game and protect the ball. The rest of the playmakers will make it happen.

This game has a bit of a rivalry aspect to it and the game actually means something. You can expect both teams laying it all out there. It should be a war! Wylie doesn't scare Brownwood. Never have and never will.

The first half and second half of the game will be night and day. If Wylie is close or ahead, it won't really matter, Brownwood will dominate them in the 2nd half.

The District Championship Game is getting played Friday night. That is why this game is so fun. After that, Wylie will go D1 and Brownwood D2. Either way, let's dominate the state.

I love this stuff. I get my handslapped with a warning and lose points or something for "name calling". All through this thread most of yall have made personal attacks on Rocket and called him numerous different names. How many warning have been handed out? Just curious.

As for the game, I think Wylie will totally dominate a very week opponent in Brownwood. I mean, we cant score, we cant stop anybody, hell, we probably should just stay home. Wylie is so good, I am sure they could beat all college teams and some NFL teams as well.

As for the game, I think Wylie will totally dominate a very week opponent in Brownwood. I mean, we cant score, we cant stop anybody, hell, we probably should just stay home. Wylie is so good, I am sure they could beat all college teams and some NFL teams as well.

That's one of the things I liked best about the week before Wylie beat Brownwood last season. We went back and forth and all took our little jabs, but nobody got too personal, etc.

Even Rockee was a good sport. ;) I mean if anybody was going to get mad it would be that cocky, whiney little.....oops:devil:

And why are we talking about the past? I mean who cares that Brownwood won its last title in 1865 and that Wylie hasn't won one since 2004. NONE OF THAT MATTERS BOYS AND GIRLS:p

Let's talk schemes and personnel.

Example: IF Shipley is healthy, I think he will drastically change the game. In the secondary he's a ballhawk and on offense he's too versatile of a weapon. Wylie doesn't have the speed to match him.

Or, another example: Hugh Sandifer is one hell of a coach and I would bet my bottom dollar he has something up his sleeve that will throw Shipley and the Lions for a loop atleast once or twice. And in this "rivalry", that might be all it takes.

Ok, this whole thread is starting to tick me off. I spend the whole weekend talking trash and calling people dirty names... even posting degrading pictures of some you Wylie folks... I get nothing in return except for a few secret booty calls and and a couple of offers for free dance lessons.

I go to work on Monday and have a busy day, never taking the time to check on the 3A downlow and you guys shoot out 6 or 7 pages of trash talk without me. I havent read the whole thread so forgive me if this has been brought up but you want some relevant football talk, well lets look at common opponents that Wylie and the Wood have faced this season. Obviously the AW/LH game was cancelled so we cant use LH as a common opponent, so that leaves us with one common opponent if I did my homework right, Waco La Vega. If you look at the score its a bit deceptive as you see AW put up 46 points on LV and gave up 29, while Brownwood only put up 24 yet held LV to only 7. I say deceptive because when you look at the Wylie game, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 39-0 lead and then began to pull their starters. Wylies starters outgained La Vega in the first half 311-29 yds...domination. Brownwood dominated their La Vega game but to my knowledge it was nowhere near as dominating as Wylies victory...(if someone has some stats from the Brownwood/Waco LV game, would you put them up for me so we can do an accurate comparison, I've tried looking for a box score/stats and I cant find any)... I know Brownwood wasnt playing with Shipley at La Vega but IMO it doesnt matter...a reciever cant catch the ball if the quarterback doesnt have time to throw...Wylies defense will be in the backfield all night...

There is a big difference. Experience. Wylie has an experience factor over Brownwood. They also have longevity with their coach and his system. This was Brownwood's 2nd (varsity) game of the season for alot of the players on the field and also executing Shipley's gameplan for the 2nd Time. Defensively? Brownwood dominated La Vega.

You are right about a normal WR not being a factor if the QB has no time to throw. Shipley is a TRUE D1 WR. You ever heard of a screen pass? LOL How about the shotgun? Go ahead and rush that Wylie DLine up in there, they will pay dearly. I really don't think Sandifer and Company share your thoughts on Shipley not being a factor. LOL
