Teams should know that it is best to stay away from the ball on a field goal. Don't try to catch it or touch it.

That poor kid. I have no problem with a pro (Leon Lett) getting razzed for something like this, but I guess in the era of the Internet and YouTube, it's inevitable (and unfortunate) that even high schoolers will be scapegoated.

But in reality -- what was the coaching staff doing? What did they tell the players? Sure, maybe you have a couple of guys back at the end zone to watch for a fake FG attempt, but once the ball is kicked, they need to be getting away from the ball. It falls short, it rolls dead, the game is over...
