can be a joke sometimes.

West Columbia Christian beats Baytown Christian 56-6 at halftime.

When a team is just outmanned it gets UGLY.

Good thing they have the mercy rule.

Last week Zeyphr had their home coming and lost with the mercy rule with a similar score at half time..... The halftime home coming activities really had to suck

Before I retire in 10 years-I'm going to attend a six-man game

I white hatted the Blanket @ Santa Anna game last week. Blanket won 70-25 and it was over at the half. Tonight I am calling Eden @ Blanket in a make up game from all the storms about 2 or 3 weeks ago. 6 man football is almost never boring!

It's for sure a whole different ballgame, any kid that's fast and elusive can pretty much score every time he touches the football in 6-man, heck, even if they aren't fast they can still score every time they touch the ball, witnessed a 72-68 game a few years ago, heard of many where both teams combined for nearly 200 pts.

Has WOS87 ever posted a map of the 6-man schools?

I'd love to take my crew to see a 6-man game, but I don't think there are any 6-man schools anywhere near the Beaumont/Orange/Port Arthur area.....

we currently live in a 6-man town, have for a little more than 3 years now. i still haven't made a 6-man game, but i do plan on it at least once this season. walnut springs actually has a pretty impressive program this year with the kids that returned off a deep playoff run from last year. i hear that it is exciting because of the fast pace, but with some of the scores our guys have been putting up on other teams, i don't really see how, hehe.

Six-man is thought of as a West Texas deal, but there are a surprising number of teams in the Metroplex. Nearly all of them are private schools.

The 6 man state games were in Abilene for 2 years. The last time they played here, it was reported that 9-10,000 people showed up to watch them. Shotwell was almost sold out. I'm sure there were more people watching the games than lived in the 4 towns represented.
It also does not help to be big in 6 man. Everyone is eligible and everyone RUNS a lot.
Last year we went to see Follet and Throckmorton play. I quit complaining about traveling after that game The people from Follet told us they drove to Hico to play in the 6 man kickoff classic. I think it was 425 miles ONE WAY.

LOTS of 6 man in Central Texas, all public schools.
Probobly 4 or 5 (Abbott, Covington, Aquilla, Blum) around Hillsboro. Two near Cameron ( Milano, Buckholts). One north of Hearne. A lot of them are out between Waco (Bosque County--Walnut Springs and Morgan) and Abilene and then between Brownwood and San Angelo..

Not too many East of I-35.

There are a couple or three in Far East Texas -- Leverett's Chapel, Apple Springs and Oakwood. Fannindel and Trinidad are a little bit closer to I-35. Fruitvale used to be six-man but went over the cutoff and had to go 11-man.

Prairie Lea between Luling and San Marcos is 6 man. They're the only 6 man team close to Cuero. I'm going to make one of their games one day.

Matador was `11 man back then.
