In the mist of this seemingly dominating offensive explosion,is the Black Flag defense being overlooked? Fact is the majority of the few points given up to proven strong opponents have been scored in latter part of 4th. quarter.Just a thought, comments welcomed.

doesn't matter

IF Gilmer plays like they have thus far, i don't even think Carthage has a chance against them. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time a consensus number 1 buckeye squad failed to win the title, but i just don't see it any other way at this point.

offense and defense are scary

They are small but are well disciplined, and have great technique. The secondary is fast but has some height issues. Overall I would say they are the best defense we have faced. I am not sure what games you watched but both Jasper and LE were able to put points up in the first half. :D JMHO

They are the only defense to hold LE under 28 pts (17).

Gilmer's D not much talked about...............and I like it that way. I stated before the season that this team was going as far as the
D took us. And as for Jasper and LE, yes they scored on us a little in the 1st half.............but when it came to the nutcutting, neither could get it done:D

So according to this, Gilmer is consistent in the first half, and comes out in the third and puts the game away in a manner that makes opposing fans want to hurl? Awesome.

Gilmer's D so far this year has been very good. I believe Gus Osborne who was a pretty dynamic player on defense last year is going to be back for the bullard game after missing since the Jasper game. He will help out on both sides of the ball. I think what is hard for Gilmer is we won't get to see them tested again until round one of the playoffs. I don't think Chapel Hill will be able to provide the fight liek they did last year, Tatum just got their butts beat by 50 by arp, and spring hill doesn't appear to have gotten any better.

Stump so far this year has been near perfect, I think this has been his best season by far, and he was great the past two years.

If Gilmer keeps sharp, they can go as far as they want to go.
