View Full Version : Div 1 and Div 2 representatives

OK - I know it's way to early to be talking playoffs- but Cuero (along with 1/2 the state) is off this week and I am bored. Anyone want to share who they think will be the Div 1 and Div 2 reps in their districts?

remember - this is just "what ifs" so take it with a grain of salt :)

From what I have read about District 28 I'll go with the following:
Div 1
Cuero Gobblers
Div 2
Edna Cowboys
Yoakum Bulldogs

Now if Gonzales somehow makes into the playoffs -

Div 1 - Gonzales Apaches

Div 2 - Cuero Gobblers
Edna Cowboys or Yoakum Bulldogs - it will go down to the wire I think

**who's the "big school" in your district?

District 16 looks like

Liberty Eylau D1

Pleasant Grove
Atlanta
Pittsburg or New Boston could surprise me though and knock Atlanta out. PG and LE are pretty sure locks.

Garcia is the only one on this board that thinks you guys have a chance to make it. If you can beat Graham, you are in. You won't have a chance against Wylie or Brownwood. Just my opinion, which doesn't mean much. Isn't this thread all opinion?

And Garcia is not the only one who thinks we have a chance, I only hope that the Lions players don't go into the last game thinking like you do or the result could be the same as last year.

Whoa there, fella....if there was an opinion poll about Snyder's playoff chances, I sure didn't see it. I, for one, am not counting the Tigers out.

I mean, what else is there to do in Snyder but play football and baseball? All that practice tends to pay off for them. ;)

Garcia and Hop aren't the only ones that think anything like that. I think that anything can happen at this point. It is still any teams for the taking. And yes, it is all just opinion. Things happen. Injuries (unfortunately) happen, mistakes happen, poor choices happen, along with many other things happen. These are some of the reasons why I put very little stock in polls, rankings and such... :D

District 7-3A is going to be a toss up I think. We haven't even started district, but Gatesville is playing some good ball. If they continue the way they have been playing they would be the DI rep with DII a toss up between China Spring, Glen Rose and West. It's still too far to go to even think about making a prediction.

District 2-3A is a hard one to call at this point. It's obvious that Wylie will be the Div. I representative. It's a no-brainer that they'll make the playoffs, and they are the biggest school in the district.

At the present time, I'll say that Brownwood will be one of the teams to make the Div II playoffs. The other team would either be Graham or Snyder. I've seen Graham play this year and they look pretty good. I thought Snyder would be down this year, but they appear to have just as good a chance as Brownwood or Graham at making the playoffs.

They'll be some very competitive games to see who makes it. It should be fun.

I personally just don't see that happening.

1. Ingleside (617)
2. Sinton (592)
3. ????????

No clue. It all hinges on whether or not Robstown makes it. If they do, they go D1. If not, Ingleside goes D1. Here are the other four teams who'll be in the playoff mix:

Mathis (536)
Robstown (958)
CC West Oso (507)
Orange Grove (502)

Right now, Ingleside and Sinton appear to be a cut above everyone else, but who knows what's going to happen for the third spot. Mathis, Robstown, West Oso, and Orange Grove will all probably duke it out for a playoff spot.

District 25 will be the most interesting district, its a bit too early to call...cuz any game could go anyway, but I'm goin to say, they will have to use the "point system" to figure this out, there will be a few teams with the same district record....

But for the first week in district, I'm going to say::bellville steps up a level and beats la grange, giddings beats sealy in a "barnburner"...columbus beats smithville

This is just how I see it....who knows wht could happen...

Go d25

With Robstown already beating Oso and from the little things I've heard around the neighborhood, I'm guessing Oso is already bouncing the round balls. I'd have to say battling it out for 2nd & 3rd place would be: Sinton, Robe, Mathis & Orange Grove
