In Poison's rock balad "Every Rose Has its Thorn", Brett Michaels writes as if the thorn(s) on a rose are a bad thing, a bane if you will... but when you understand exactly why thorns are on roses, it's a great thing roses have thorns, it protects the rose... sooooo instead of crying about it, the chorus should have been as follows:

"Every rose has its thorn
Just like every knight has its sword
just like every cowboy has a gun that he's worn
Every rose has its thorn"
