Ingleside @ Mathis

Can’t say enough how well the Mustangs have played up to this point. Offensively the QB Brian Hull, RB/WR Dale Falbacher and RB Raydell Perez have been able to keep it balanced. The defense appears to be playing a little better every week. Ingleside has put up a total of 193 points in the last 4 games which averages to 48 points per game. Opponents have averaged almost 13 points a game.

Mathis creamed AP in a 44-0 blowout. I have heard that Mathis has a good running game and if they can grind the clock down this game could be close. Ingleside can score very quickly on offense which will hurt Mathis if they cannot establish their game plan and keep it rolling.

I pick the Mustangs by 14. Any thoughts?

Since Mathis has so much success at running the ball, rushing 822 yrds out of 857 total yards. This should be a first major test for the Mustangs run defense. The defense struggles a little against the run but adjust quick. Our DL and LBs will have to take it up a couple notches for this game!

Our Offense has been on a rolled and continues to score at will. With Fabacher, Barajas and the Mchugh twins out running all secondaries they have face. The recieving teams are confident and will go get the ball. The main RBs consist of Raydell Perez and Falbacher as the main weapons but the QB Brian Hull has got his legs this year and has produced 228 yards on the ground with 4 TDs. His arm and ability to read the entire field has produced 662 yards in passing (Major Improvement from last year). What I have read about Mathis is that RB Donnie Butler is thier major work horse running 392 yards. RB Rashad Washington, RB Justin Medrano and RB Trevor Hardin bring up the rest of the running. The QB Gabriel Alvarado has both short yardage running and passing.

I believe the more balance offense of the Ingleside Mustangs will just out score the Mathis Pirates in this one.

Ingleside To Undergo Possibly Biggest Test Of The Season

INGELSIDE - Ingleside is a perfect 4-0, but are far from underdogs in district 31-3A.

So far this season, they've scored 40 or more points in every single game, managing 61 last week against Falfurrias in their district opener. Their defense has become extremely stingy, giving up just 13 points in their last two games. Although, Friday should be the blue's biggest test of the season, as they travel out to visit 2-2 Mathis.

"I definitely think Mathis' ball club is the best club we have faced up until this point. They are well coached, they execute real well and they play hard, so I expect them to come ready to play on Friday," Head Coach Graig Hesseltine said.

"They have a lot of experience coming back. They are 1-0 in district and they want that title, so I do believe its going to be a much more important game this week," quarterback Brian Hull said.

I saw Mathis lose to Skidmore-Tynan a couple of weeks ago and wasn't really impressed with their offense. I guess they've improved since. Their defense though was flying all over the field.

I believe it has been somewhere around 21-28. Second halfs for the Mustangs have been pretty much the same.

Back up kicker and then regular kicker with a bad ankle. 2nd kick just barely made it. Don't think coach thought we would be lucky again. We scored on 2 pt play- ball hit pylon on film. Just didn't get the call.
