Went to this one tonight. Great offensive game by the Ags. JJ was 23 of 29 passing for 290 and 3 TDs, and he also ran for 3 TDs. The defense really clamped down on the running plays, with the lion's share of UAB's rushing yardage coming on broken plays and QB scrambles under pressure.
Navasota's Brandal Jackson had 3 catches for 26 yards in getting his first career start at wideout, with Jeff Fuller injured for the next few weeks. He would have had 4 catches for about 40, but the refs called his diving comeback catch incomplete, when watching the replay on the big screen, it was an excellent catch with his hands between the turf and the ball. For some reason, they stopped play for almost 30 seconds after the ruling, then said "the previous play is not under review." The call was by the same official who called Nwachaku's TD catch an interference by both offense and defense, when there was nothing but a small brush between the two.
