Hate to say it but one thing REALLY struck me tonight about the Gobbler Coaching Staff! WHY would you have Trent Jackson in on defense when you know he has been sick all week! Missed 2 days of school this week. If he gets hurt that REALLY will effect our offense and our season! There were 20 other players on the bench. :confused: :confused:

Because at 75% he is still better than the 20 on the bench. Have your best players on the field at all time.

I do not think he played defense the second half. Maybe they were trying out different defensive scheme.

Bingo. Even though there is more risk for injury. If a player is that talented you have to get them on the field as much as possible.

Wimberley is finally doing that with Dennis Smith this year. He plays probably half the snaps at safety. But he needs to be on the field. He's too talented to sit on the bench.

Trent was not the only one... about 5 other members on the team were in this same situation...the sickness is going around cuero high school rapidly... health wise he was perfectly fine..he did complain of the shoulder injury though..

Yes, I had the time of my life! Really enjoyed meeting everyone. I'll post the pics when I get back to Germany. My dad and I spent the whole day in Cuero, and I met some of the nicest people. A special thanks to Green bling for giving me her CP green wrist band, and a VERY special thanks to 44IAR for getting everything in motion and letting me sit next to her right under the press box!! It was a great game, and I must admit, I was a bit worried at halftime. The Gobblers really turned up the heat in the second half. I didn't realize the Bears didn't get a first down in the 4th qtr.

Cuero has been critiqued in the past from outside people for not playing some players both ways... You have to have the best players on the field....

I enjoyed the M & G at the Longhorn as well. It was great to meet King Rob and his Dad. Always nice to have a good meal and talk some football. Glad he got to see a great game.

I hear that Gobbla - coaches- damned if they do - damned if they don't. I think a prerequiste course to take when a person becomes a coach is "Thick Skin 101" ;)

Yep- been there & done that. Sometimes the skin just can't be thick enough though!
