Would you tolerate us putting in the Sophmore team instead of our JV. They played at castleberry instead. A Sophmore scored the last two touchdowns on runs right up the middle. Took out the starters after the first series of the third quarter we had to let JJ Jennings break the thousand yard mark on the season and he was only one yard shy at the half. Starters combined for 56 points and then second string third string and sophmore team contirbuted the remining 20. With the sophmores playing practically the enitre fourth quarter.

I figured they woulda pulled the starters after a quarter and half or so under normal circumstances but since the starters haven't had much work the last 3 games they left them in there a lil longer...I wonder how the JV did against Castleberry..

Wow, Everman is stepping it up. Question, how come they played on Thursday night? That's kind of unusual for 3A isn't it?

Matthew,

Do you think since yall played Kennedale in the first district game (starters played whole game) and then the rest of district like you said the starters dont get much work, does that hurt your team going into the playoffs. Now I know Everman is an elite team but early in Bridgeports season the starters were only playing about a half a game, when it came time to play the Gainesvilles and the Decaturs, I think it hurt us. Our kids looked tired. I just wondering what your opinion was on this.

Matthew Evermans JV beat Castleberry 24-7 since you were wondering. Who is Evermans next opponent?

Everman plays Glen Rose next week. The entire purpose of us playing the starters that much last night was to see how our guys would hold up. At practice they had been running extra sprints to try and keep up to game form but that doesn't have the same effect as actual game time. Wouldn't be suprised to see the starters play for an even longer amount of time next week.

I don't play for the team I graduated from Everman in 2001 for the past five seasons though I have filmed for Everman not missing a game.

I imagine next week Glen Rose will see Everman's starters probably most of the game...I think in a way it helps Everman not playing the starters the whole game because you get your young guys plenty of experience...of course it could hurt later in the year..but it didn't last year....most of Everman's starters have been through the wars..they'll be ready come playoff time...the reason Everman played on Thursday because they played a FWISD school..FWISD only has 3 stadiums for 13 high schools..so they have games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday..much like Dallas, Houston and San Antonio ISD's

The 4A schools are all in the same district and 5 games every week are played by them. When the 3A's and the 5A are also playing at home Thursday games are common and so are Saturday afternoon games. I sure took a long time to explain that, but the bottom line is Thursdays are used a lot in Ft Worth. Whew
