View Full Version : Unclassy move in a classy town

Last night at our JV game against Graham. We had 3 probably Junior high girls that came to our side with the sole purpose to irritate some fans by screaming cheers in their ears. They would move around until they aggravated someone and then start making fun of them and calling them names. Finally one of our moms ran them off. Now I know that this is by no means a example of the class we see from Graham. Graham has some of the best sportsmen, who will knock you to the ground and then immediatly help you up. They are one of the few schools that will meet the other team after the game and have a mixed huddle at mid field for a prayer. I have never had a problem with Graham before, this is probably a one time thing. But very irritating. Also whats up with the lights above the press box that shines right in the face of the visiting teams.

I'm pretty sure there would be teachers and/or educators or some adults from Graham that should have been contacted while all of this was going on.

I wasn't there, but I can only imagine getting in touch with an adult from Graham to ask for their help....

I was there and had I known that was happening I sure would have done something about it. By no means let 3 immature girls be an example for an entire town. Next time please let someone know. As for the lights, I don't know. They are security lights should have not been on. Just an oversite probably.

Jr High girls? I've got one of those and when she has her friends over...having common sense and rational actions are not how I would describe their actions.

I wouldn't judge too much based on a few junior high kids.

Last year at Wylie they moved some students to the visitors side with similar results. I think it was against Waco LV. To his credit one of the principals apologized on 3ADL to the opposing fans.

Usually I don't see a problem allowing fans to go to either side, but sometimes it can create problems. Last time Wylie went to Graham to play, several (50-100) older Graham alums had staked out all the seats on the 50 yard line on Wylie's side. They did not cause any problems, but they staked the seats out before the stadium opened and took all the good seats.

And this is not picking on Snyder because I know several people from there and they are all friendly and good natured. But they used to allow their fans to set on the visitors side. One year, a Snyder adult got so out of control sitting in the Wylie student section the police had to escort him out. Again, I'm not picking on Snyder, just the guy who caused the problem.
It's too bad one or two people can cause so many problems for everyone else, and give a program an undeserved reputation.

Both Monahans and Snyder fans sit on the visitor's side during
varsity games. Nothing Sweeter than walking pass them after your
team just beat them as was the case when we played in both
towns last year.

I remember the one at Snyder. The person was behind the student and you know our students normally stand during the whole game and that is when the problem started. In fact they made our students sit.

Snyder fans sitting on the visitor side made the Abilene Wylie students sit down??

Oh whose authority???

I remember a couple of years ago some of the "Greenwood fans" sitting behind the student section and complaining because they wouldn't sit down......SIT SOME WHERE ELSE!!!!

In fact, the kids made shirts that had some Greenwood blurb on the front of it and the back said, "STAND UP OR GO HOME!":D

I had a friend sitting close that was thinking about it, but I think he weighed it against spending the night with the fine law and order/ peace keepers of Snyder! If he was 20 it might have been different, but an extra 20 years of age will change the way you think a little.

I hate it when the visiting teams fans come and sit on the Wylie side. First of all, most of the time they don't have their dinner jackets on which is required. Also, one time one of them (from Graham, I think) was so rude..... she accused me of chewing with my mouth open (filet-mignon is what we were served that game). I stayed classy though, and didn't EVEN mention the fact that she had on white shoes, and it was after Labor Day.

Hondo used to have problems with school aged kids from the opposing school coming to Hondo's side. Several years ago Hondo put up a fence and now they do not allow anyone on the "wrong side".

But I did have a problem with there intent. I'm sure we have probably had kids doing the same thing. I'm not gonna say we don't but I would want to know if they did so thats why I posted it. As far as the lights on the press box I asked one of the coaches on the field and they didn't even notice it. So I guess it didn't effect them just a few of us in the stands when they were playing in the middle.

When we were in 8-4A with the Killeen schools I was dating a crazy psycho woman (but that's another story) that had a daughter on the drill team. We started to go to the home side to watch and film the half time show but they stopped us at the gate. Our parents group had to have a police escort to go to the home side. They took us up the elevator to a spot near the press box to view the half time show. The escorts promised us we did not want to make that journey without them and they were not wrong.. We were heckled and yelled at the whole time we were on the home side. It was scary as hell... Thank goodness for 3A football!!!

Let’s not forget to mention that Glen Rose had a grown man over on the Graham Side with a giant propane bottle shaking it like crazy. Was that really necessary on the visitor’s side of the stadium?

Stay classy

In all honesty this thread probably needs to be closed like the previous thread between Graham and Glen Rose

In regard to the older Graham Alums staking out all of the seats on the 50 yard line, I can explain that. There is no seating on the home side to speak of. Parents of players cannot even buy reserved seating. There are people and companies that have held reserved tickets since the stadium opened. Some go, some don't. But to get more than 2 seats together is almost impossible, so that is why they Alums staked out the seats. We all wish there were more seating for everyone. The girls should have been sent home. Sorry for their behaviour.
