I've heard El Campo may go 3a too but I think they got somewhere in the 900's or low 1000's,

Yeah, I don't know anything about their recent history. I just
remember Sweetwater being pretty darn good in the 90's.
Unfortunately, it was Stephenville and La Marque bringing home the
SC trophies though.

LaMarque's numbers have been dropping a little but from what I have understood they have not recovered from Ike and many families relocated to Dickinson...

LaMarque started a freshman at qb and tb last year... they are still talented... only remains to be seen if they can win at the 3a level but have consistently been a force at the 4a level

Didnt La Marque beat Denison like 3 times in title games. I saw La Marque play Galveston Ball a few years ago and they were good. Lots of speed.

I heard too that EC maybe moving down to 3A

Throw them in Wharton's district with Stafford, Sweeny, Needville, Royal, Columbia.

Never can tell-could Palacios could be in the mixture since a straight shot from El Campo on 71 to 35.

They take attendance either in October November to turn into UIL. Edna's only 30 minutes from El Campo as well.

LaMarque would be similar if not better than Everman was when they dropped...they've had a couple of down years but with their youth and talent they'd be dangerous.

As for what district I'd bet they stay in the burbs, I can't imagine LaMarque would be too thrilled about playing six HISD schools..(neither would Stafford)...UIL prefers when they have a situation of one ISD keeping them by themselves in a district if possible...could see a district with

not quite... La Marque makes the playoffs on a consistent basis and was a great power...
played in 7 straight state championship games in the 90's... lost the first two to Stephenville and the last two to Stephenville... I think they beat Denison in 2 of the 3 in the middle that they won so they were 3-4 in those games... very impressive... and until last year they have been in the playoffs every year since Weddel took them over...

they may not drop to 3A... but someone needs to get a good look and how many 7th and 8th graders that they have to get the numbers they will be turning in...

there will be an adjustment that LaMarque will have to make since not as much spread in 3a as in 4a... but they can run with anyone
