Cathage is not the 2nd best team in 3a. JMO.

I also don't think Giddings is better than Wylie.

And honestly, I think Brownwood is a top 10 team too. Top 5 with all their players.

IMO, Abilene Wylie should be ranked higher and Brownwood should be getting at least a few votes. I know Graham has a solid ballclub, but #10? We'll see in a few more weeks how this thing will turn out.

It's just the AP's opinion. What do they know? It'll all shake out in a few weeks. BTW What's the story on Mexia?

I can't believe Prosper beat a 4A and got skipped by two teams.

Based on this week poll:

1. Navasota went from #9 to #5 after beating #6 Bellville.
2. Cuero went from #8 to #6.
3. Mexia went from #10 to #7.
4. Prosper went from #7 to #8.

I saw Cuero this past week. They are very solid but they do not have a lot of speed like usual. If they face a good team with speed they could have their hands full J.M.O.

I wonder how far Brownwood will move up once they whip Wylie on Oct. 9th?

The rest of Region 4 isn't loaded with speed either. I think they'll be fine till they face Giddings. Then it's a toss up.

Know this ain't 3A but how good is Southlake Carroll this year? From what I gather on the 5A site they have more of a running game this year than in years past. That Avers kid must be a hoss. Just been followin em since their days in 3A. Anybody got any info?

Not arguing your point or disagreeing or anything (haven't seen 'em yet this year), your reply just got my brain turning here.

I've thought back on our losses dating back to '04... Abilene Wylie in '04, I think they matched our speed well in that loss, but I don't think we were overmatched in the department... Hutto in '05? Overall Cuero was still speedier in my opinion... '06 against Wimberly Cuero for sure had the overall speed advantage (and we got our asses h-h-h-h-handed to us... In '07 I didn't see the China Spring game so no comment... last year I think we were matched with LVega

So out of those 5 losses, I do not think we were overwhelmed by the other team's speed... I'm starting to think, maybe it's better we don't have all of that speed as usual? I mean, we're far from slow, above average in speed I'm sure, but maybe not having speed-egos on the team will make 'em fight a little harder where it's needed?

Hell I dunno, like I said, my brain just started turning... usually when that happens I'm drunk-posting or I'm just bored... not drunk... not bored... hmmm what the hell?

Don't see it happening. I think this will be a defensive battle. We can play some D this year.

Or I wonder how long it will be before we hear "Wylie bought the refs or we were injured or blah, blah, blah, etc." when the Brown gets sent to the Wood shed by the Dawgs.....

A lot of this doesn't make sense to me....

I don't see how bellville isn't in the top at all...

After losing to a navasota team by 10, navasota can most likely beat any other team in the state...

Bellville deserves more credit than that...

But rankings don't mean much, its all about the team who come out to play...the score always starts out 0-0

then don't sweat the small stuff! sit back and enjoy the season. Being #1 in Week 3 or 4 - heck in week 10 means NOTHING - I from where I speak :)
